As someone who's entire career has been in the legal field, I'm pissed that he's getting away with this. While I understand there would be a shitshow if he was jailed, I'm tired of the DIC (I think the "D" needs to be changed to "DICK") not being held accountable for his mouth. Fines are just not cutting it anymore. I find his courtroom behavior horrifying.
I won’t be around to see how history will define the Trump era but it will make the Teapot Dome Scandal and Watergate burglary look like parking infractions. When I see Stone and Manafort mentioned I would love to know what their former partner, Hartford’s own, Peter Kelly thinks?!?
DIC is treated differently than any other defendant. He should be fined -- and even threatened with jail. No one – and not even the legal system – knows how to handle him. Who knows what is going to happen at the NY trial. I read that one of the jurors gets his news from Truth Social -- really gets his news from Truth Social. Can that juror be impartial? Bracing for a bad outcome. Swords up!
Fining a billionaire, or whatever his current valuation is, won't mean much...ever. However a week in MCC Fed lockup would straighten his *ss out pretty quick.
He has zero impulse control. And, he believes he can do whatever he wants. It'll be interesting to see who will stop him from getting his way and how they will do it, finally.
There's a bridge rebuild going on near me, that started before the pandemic and shows no signs of completion. The Manafort construction company is working it. Every time I pass by, I wonder if he thinks it was all worth it -- the humiliation, the snakeskin vest, jail time, etc. I guess he does, because he's going back for more.
We’d be locked up so fast our heads would spin! Skip fines that are never going to get paid. Get the handcuffs! Of course the logistics of protecting him would make things difficult.
