Totally true, we destabilized Iran years ago and have spent the time since the fall of the Shah stabbing them in the back and then we pretend that we don't know the reason that they hate us. The US has never belonged in the Middle East in any capacity.
The British learned their lesson in the Middle East the hard way and were more than happy to shed Palestine and the surrounding area and all that followed since then and we still haven't learned the lesson. Just as we ignored the failure of France in Vietnam and got ourselves into that disaster that killed 57,000 of our troops and maimed thousands more both mentally and physically.
Yes we shit all over ancient civilizations with an attitude like we are supreme beings! Time to stop propping up NetanYAHOO! Israel needs to find a leader who can deliver coexistence and peace!
Rubio is a perfect fit for the MAGA movement— and will likely run for president. But I wonder if everything you explain here is reaching the MAGAs— or is it just us. Now, our felon-in-chief is attending NATO, showing the other leaders just how tough he is. I would bet that the weekend bombing had something to do with this upcoming summit.
I am saying that Trump decided to go ahead and bomb days before the summit. The timing is interesting since the “intelligence” is vague on how far along Iran was in building a nuclear bomb. ( I don’t trust or believe anything this administration says)
He has no foreign policy plan. He has iced out Tulsi --- maybe that is for the good, who knows. He listens to FoxNews and is influenced by what they broadcast. I do know that prior to the Iran strike, FoxNews had on "experts" saying that Israel was bold to strike Iran. And then all of a sudden -- two weeks of waiting -- turned into hours. The US launched a strike.
I heard a reporter today state that Trump was planning a "victory" lap at the meeting because of the cease fire. LOL Meanwhile the "cease fire" has already been breached and Trump was whinging about it this a.m. like the child that he is.
I doubt that anyone from NATO will be doing a round of applause. Any applause will be for Zelensky. I'm certain Donnie is rather upset today too to see the photos once again of Zelensky having lunch with King Charles at Windsor once again, while Donnie still hasn't had his state visit. I'm thinking that state visit to the UK is on a very slow roll.
From what you describe, I think Rubio has a future in the MAGA movement. I had no idea how perfect he is for this approach to reality. It makes me more aware that MAGA itself must be neutralized to prevent people like Rubio (and Vance and Kennedy) from continuing the "legacy" (gag me!) of "alternative facts," irrelevant truth, and the wholehearted embrace of a decision making process that does not involve a brain but moves through the GI tract of the fearless leader.
I wholeheartedly agree. The MAGt movement is more than one person. It’s a host of nasty feeder fish whose fealty is to power and nothing more. Drain the power and the feeder fish die. Or, in the case of Rubio, they morph into whatever they think will make them powerful.
He's always been a weak guy. His history in Florida politics is that of a weak toad always looking for a handout and being willing to do whatever his "owner" asks of him. Always remember that his first owner was a car dealer. A very rich car dealer who financed Rubio and his wife while Rubio was in the FL legislature. He's the same guy who lied about his family background for years pretending that his parents escaped Cuba when Castro came to power -- lie. After his first term in the Senate, he whined that he didn't want to run again because he didn't like being in the Senate and half the time, didn't show up. Then he basically was ordered by the party to run again so the Repugs could keep the seat. Never forget the sweat drenched Republican response he gave to a State of the Union speech when he chugged water at the podium like a guy who'd just swallowed a block of salt on a hot day. Then there was the pathetic run for President and the "Little Marco" tag hung on him by Trump and still -- having zero pride -- he signed on with Trump because he needs his bills paid and if he wasn't in the administration, he'd have to find an actual job -- something to which he is allergic. He is a miserable worm dressed like a man.
In today's letter Professor Richardson offers a terrific historical perspective on our involvement in manipulating political movements within Iran. Now, it is all coming full circle. Often we are our own worst enemy.https://heathercoxrichardson.substack.com/p/june-23-2025/comments?reaction=❤

It's pretty arrogant of us to think We Know. We don't.

Hi ho! On it.

It was already planned, the summit, and I hope NATO treats him like the dunce king he is. And I seriously doubt many MAGAts read this Substack.

Ah. I think you may be right. He only has one trick, pretend strong man.

That's such a scary thing, to have Rupert Murdoch's stupidest child dictate foreign policy.

He brought a pool noodle to a nuclear war. Figures.

Thank you! I signed, and I had already written to my Representative and my Senators in my Yorkshire this-morning, after reading about the resolution.
You remind me to publicize this on Substack in my small way.
Go, you!
Does that make Little Marco's father an anchor baby? Is Marco an anchor baby by inheritance?
Excellent questions. I vote yes to both.
I do find it very satisfying when all of these truly egregious truths unfold.
