From the Middletown Press “Despite the clear satire in the Onion’s announcement — I can confirm that Global Tetrahedron, again, a real company, really did purchase InfoWars. And the Sandy Hook families' attorneys did not detail their financial involvement except to say, “The Connecticut families agreed to forgo a portion of their recovery to increase the overall value of the Onion’s bid, enabling its success.””

We need all the good news we can get. What's ahead feels so awful and heavy.

I thought this purchase was a joke when I read it on social. Bravo to the Onion and the Sandy Hook families. A bright light to end a bad week of news! I joined Bluesky, as lynnedel —follow me and I will follow you back!

We here in Sandy Hook like the outcome on this. Everyone at the Democratic Town Committee meeting last night saw it as a point of light in the sky.

I feel obligated to note that though this really happened, and Global Tetrahedron is real, Bryce P. Tetraeder is a fake CEO persona created by The Onion. He therefore cannot run for president, unfortunately.

Yes, and isn't that the saddest thing? I should go back in and add that he's not real. I had that in and think I scraped it before publishing.

May The Onion be around long enough for an edited reprise of one of their most notable headlines, originally dedicated to the 9/11 hijackers. Only this time it will read “Alex Jones surprised to find himself in Hell”.

I'm still learning, myself, and probably making egregious and rude mistakes in the process.

I think the place has a lot of potential. Growing by the day. To be just a bit insufferable and quote my own self:

"bluesky is going to be a case study in Network Effects for providing a structure for scaling up big while marginalizing/excluding the worst elements in society."

Apparently there is another step that has to happen before this is finalized. And Jones has vowed to fight the sale. Because...Alex Jones.
