In “Word Histories” nothing leads to the word dandy being a homophobic slur but I suppose one could extrapolate that it does. Maybe this is our modern interpretation of “Dandy.” But is was a slur for sure.
Other than the links here, “dandy” was a synonym for “fop,” or a man too intent on worrying about his appearance. Read the links. It’s an interesting journey.
But… as I mentioned, it’s open to interpretation at best. Conceited, self-possessed, a phony. Ok, I’m not making this one my battle today. I surrender. It means whatever one wishes.
On the topic, although I don’t need to preach to the choir, the 2nd amendment is a shining example of interpretation and also twisting out of context. People in the gun industry say that it means everyone has a right but in fact, they are motivated by the bassist of human instincts; money. The amendment has nothing to do with everyone’s right. And some of us know that guns were the best way to perpetuate the institution of slavery. And that was a compromise written into the constitution by the founders. Having political power is only a vehicle to obtain mo money. A man would be content without power only if he had all the money, though which implies that he would have power that money affords.
I want to read your book on Frog Hollow. Next on my list.
Dark Brandon rocks! Hey, MAGA Nuts... die mad about it. 🤣
Bwa ha ha ha.

Gotta do stuff.
Yes, it IS open to interpretation. That should probably be implied with every post.
