We in the east will have a nice opportunity to view a total eclipse in April 2024 - the 8th or 9th, I think. Make your plans now.

And also, if Jesus could return to remove some of his warped followers, the rest of us could get back to living by the Golden Rule.

While I knew about the eclipse I wasn't tracking on it-- it only got so annular from the Denver area, and maybe that's why. But my husband said he wanted to see it, and asked whether we still had eclipse glasses. We did, and I even knew where they were.

It was great.

I think events like this are important because they remind us of how insignificant we are. Humanoids really need to get over themselves. Who the hell do we think we are anyway?

Is that an honest-to-Buddha quote? Because it's an awesome one.

As far as I know. I think I saw it the first time in one of R. H. Blyth’s books many years ago but I’ve seen it elsewhere since. It’s one of a number of things I’ll say to myself if the moment calls for it and I get out of my own way.

That's such a cool photo! And I'm with you - I enjoy it!

The song that comes to mind is Carly Simon's "You're So Vain"...

"...Well I hear you went up to Saratoga

And your horse naturally won

Then you flew your lear jet up to Nova Scotia

To see the total eclipse of the sun..." 🎶
