We in the eastern part in the country missed an incredible ring of fire eclipse (and here are some awesome shots from around the country) that turned the mundane into something wonderful.
(And does any one else sing Johnny Cash’s “Ring of Fire” in their heads, when they read that phrase? No? Me, either.)
My sister-in-law took the above photo in their New Mexico backyard. My brother sent the photo to me and I shared it all over the place because it’s awesome, that’s why.
This kind of natural phenomenon has a way of bringing out…something in us.
The End Times folks used the event as yet another opportunity to remind us that Jesus is coming (though they seemed to be far more worked up about the earlier Blood Moons) and you should look busy.
Scientists warned us that weird things — quick drops in the temperature, confused microbes — could happen.
And because Capitalism? Shopkeepers were ready to sell you some special eclipse sunglasses.
Ah, but we can always just choose to enjoy the phenomenon. That’s my plan, anyway, for the next one that comes around.
Next time one comes around, that’s my plan, anyway.
The photos I saw were incredible!
And yes, the Home Free version is playing in my head. If you’ve never heard it please check it out!
We in the east will have a nice opportunity to view a total eclipse in April 2024 - the 8th or 9th, I think. Make your plans now.
And also, if Jesus could return to remove some of his warped followers, the rest of us could get back to living by the Golden Rule.
