Lord, give me patience that I might trust in your Justice and not my anger.

It’s inevitable that Trump will violate the conditions. The judge better not blink, even if it gets to the point of having to detain Trump in some fashion.

I think he's bucking for a fork: (1) the judge blinks and the Trumpie chorus goes haHA! (2) the judge orders him in jail and his Loyal Myrmidons Especially Law Enforcement and Military rise up and make the US the Fourth and Eternal Reich haHAhaHA!

Because I think that Trump is really banking on insurrection. Let it be just successful enough, and he figures not unreasonably that the military will buck for Order over Old Oath. I think that he was disappointed to learn that the US military was not (thank God) all about Trump Fuhrer and didn't wanna coup-- but he knows that plenty in both law enforcement and military are far right, white supremacist, fascist, abnormally misogynistic, and/or Trumpie.

So so so so so same. But I don't think any insurrectionist hopes he has will be justified in the way he wants.

If something happens, I suspect it will be more scattered and terroristic than organized. I worry more about individual actors at this point.

I utterly agree: I think the best chance for his hoped-for insurrection was January 6, which could have achieved a capture of the capitol, but I don't think would have been supported by the military. I think we would have had a weird and horrendous capitol siege.

I am more concerned that more scattered and terroristic actions with social support from too many people with irrefutable views will make a big costly mess that might go all sorts of ways. Even if it goes to structural reforms I would choose, oh, the cost, so grim. And it well might go toward more authoritarianism.

Susan, I simply can’t believe that he is able to keep his mouth shut on social media. (He has what used to be called “diarrhea of the mouth.”)
