The last time a Democrat held this Congressional seat was the same year that Roe V Wade was decided. Fingers crossed.

It didn’t take long for republicans to claim that rank choice voting was a scam

The party that is always crying about states rights is crying about a state that chose to have rank choice voting

The snake was always lurking in the garden and then? It arrived and we can't seem to rid the political field of it.

A sign of hope for the women of Alaska. It also brings me back to John McCain and this reflection. He empowered Palin and his protege, Limpseed Graham, ya know the guy enticing the American Taliban to riot! Part of McCain's legacy is his poor judgement with the company he kept!

I always think of that, and of his regret, which I put in the same category as his original fumbling of the question of the Confederate flag in South Carolina. He apologized, but he went against his own instinct and integrity to win. I give him credit for apologizing.https://www.washingtonpost.com/archive/politics/2000/04/20/mccain-reverses-flag-stance/2127f2a1-553b-4cc8-a587-f3324547069c/

Regarding Palin, my late mother loved John McCain so I was surprised when she told me she voted for Obama. When I asked her why, she sniffed and said; “That woman!”

Definitely. Hoping for a non-toxic chaser.

It keeps depressing the f--- out of me that all of the "incumbents always take a bath at the midterms" coverage depends so unconsciously on the assumption that it's a matter of who can get their fans up and cheering-- not on how voters and candidates perceive issues and remedies and plans and opportunities. Whereas I think Kansas does show concern for issues over identity.
