Bradley Cooper’s ad with his tiny mom was charming. And good for Rihanna. She looked so beautiful pregnant up there.

I agree. We literally had three generations singing along, AND if Bradley Cooper wasn't as charmed by his mother as he appeared to be, well, that was some good acting.

When I was fifteen I spent the summer hitchhiking around the country (you could do that back then). The Unification Church was particularly active with a recruiting strategy that at times bordered on kidnapping. Given my age and appearance, I fit a runaway profile and was targeted by them in half a dozen cities. These commercials are an eerie reminder of their approach back then. It was subtle, friendly and persistent based on the assumption that I was scared and lonely. It was always a young man and woman. They’d walk along for awhile asking questions and making comments that were hard to disagree with, usually followed by an offer join them for a meal or to hang out at this “cool place with kids like you”. I knew who they were and they’d usually give up when they realized they couldn’t get their hooks in although a couple of times I had to get confrontational to run them off. These “He gets us” folks seem just as insidious.

Wow. That’s just icky.

Never before have my Media Literacy students been less interested in Super Bowl commercials. I blame those small screens they carry around with them, which apparently provide much more entertaining content than a football game with ads.

I, too, was intrigued by the "He Gets Us" commercials. Worth studying in more depth, as you imply.

On its face, I was excited, but then I did a little research and, as I brought up in class this morning, you always need to know a message's source before you embrace it whole-heartedly. And these commercials weren't all that awesome.

It is natural that there should be many Jesi-- even in the New Testament we read him being perceived very differently by different people (though interestingly standing pat on Not That several times).

I really dislike some Jesi, though. I don't like Magic Jesus. And I don't like Jesus the bro I invented who agrees with everything I believe, but that doesn't necessarily go for you.

I rooted for Philadelphia but watched only tangentially as my husband watched. It's so not hockey.

I had an hour break where I had to drive from one house to my own, and when I turned on the television, Kansas City was ahead and yay! But I would have survived either way. I just like close football games, but as my older brother said, it's hard to get excited about a win after that questionable holding call against Philadelphia.

I don't think it would have changed the outcome had they not called it.

I wasn't siding with one team or the other, though Mahomes is so impressive. It seemed everyone thought the Eagles would win. I was happy it was so close.

I stopped having a favorite football team when I started betting on football and I stopped following football when I stopped betting on football

I know enough to recognize the biggest names , but without their helmets I would probably shrug and say who’s that aimed

I also loved the commercials during the game , but even that isn’t something I miss seeing

They are trying to sell me something that I really don’t need

These aren’t things that I hate

I have just moved on from them

I’m sorry but I can’t call your team by their name

Go Kansas City

Yep. It’s a horrible name. In the pre-game, they had a retired player and he did the abominable hand chop. Time to retire that, all of it.

Most fans of Kansas City have no idea that the team started out in Texas and were called the Dallas Texans for their first 3 seasons

After winning the AFL title they moved to Kansas City

Some of them may know that, but yeah.
