Got my fourth on Monday also. Slightly sore arm. All better by this morning. No other ill effects except for the way metal objects keep flying toward me when I walk through the kitchen. Just like you, I told Lori I would happily get one twice a year for the rest of my life. That way when I see some racist, homophobic idiots protesting whatever it is they will dream up next, I will be able to use my laser eye beams on them.
I got mine yesterday, and like you, I will be in line for 5, 6, 7, 8 .... however long they keep coming . I spend a lot of time with two adult daughters who are immunocompromised. Any thing I can do to minimize their risk, I will do.
Got an appointment tomorrow. I hang out with a very pro-vaccine crowd but there seems to be more of a discussion amongst them about when to get a second booster. Some of that has been driven by somewhat conflicting advice from talking heads. For me, it was as soon as the pharmacy was cleared for appointments (I’m kind of hung up on going to the same place for all my shots). And yeah, when the next round is necessary, I’ll be in line. I suspect that round will have broader variant coverage.
The presence of masks has become unpredictable in my experience over the past week or so. Sometimes I’m the only person with one on, sometimes not. More interestingly (and I’m stereotyping here) it defies demographics and appearance. College students with masks, older people not. Laborers waiting to get picked up for a days work in masks, white collar folks not. Pick-up driving guys in camo pants at the hardware store in masks, homeowners in the garden center not. Nobody is staying in the lane I apparently assigned them. I guess I have to work on that.
So, 5 months since your last dose? It's been 4 months for me, so I'm going to wait a bit longer.
I went to Maine over the weekend, and for the first time in ever, went into restaurants, stores, and hotel lobbies without a mask. It felt very strange. I also walked on the beach a lot and got a lot of fresh air, which felt wonderful. Am now daydreaming of having a shack/cottage/trailer near the beach and spending summers there.
Sharon, I know the feeling. We’ve been renting the same beach shack on the Cape, the same two weeks in the fall, for 36 years. It’s always been special but never so much as the past two years.
My friend lives in Yonkers, and I think that insofar as we're Doing Things it will be north of the city. Mostly, though, we'll just hang out. And probably plan future trips to Great Britain: she's an Anglophile.
She got first wave COVID very early, has long COVID, and has been feeling very low. The more so that long COVID left her with difficulty reading anything long, and she's always been a reader.
Oh! I'm so sorry to hear this. I know people with long COVID and it's no joke. I really hope the research they're doing sheds some light on this, with a cure just around the corner.
Add my name to the double boosted list. I’m planning a trip to the UK in June, the goddess willing they bring their numbers down. Stay boosted and sassy, Susan.
Im with you. Took mom and together we both got our 2nd booster shots, yesterday. My arm is sore, and I'm feeling perhaps a bit tired. And you know what? I DON'T CARE! Sign me up for the next one. Those of us who sing are REALLY ready to move along with this business.

Well, there ARE the secret Soros meetings I can now tune in if I raise my right leg.

There you go. It IS about staying healthy, but it's also about keeping the people around you healthy.

I'm laughing because I do the same thing -- get surprised at who is observing pandemic protocols and who is not. I'm very judge-y that way.

Isn't it wonderful, rejoining the land of the living? And yes. November was my last shot.

Go, you!
I'm reckoning to time my second booster to be at peak and glorious immunity when I travel to New York* to visit a most beloved and long-missed friend.
* New York is apparently starting to fall down the COVID toilet again. May the early omens be false!
I hope so, too. I've only been there once in the last two years and I miss it.

Amen…
Good for you! 👏🏻 I’m scheduled for Friday. I share the same plan as you. Whatever boosters it takes. Swords up against spreading Covid! ⚔️
Swords all the WAY up!
