I was just rude and blocked someone who was a snot about my refusing to comply and then getting arrested by ICE. Yes, you lil’ numpty. I will refuse to comply. Of course I don’t want to get arrested but that’s a chance I’m willing to take. They’re doing their jobs. And I, as an educator, will be doing mine. And numpty can go bite down on it.

When I was saying my farewells to my now former boss yesterday afternoon, we joked about me having him on speed dial (AND knowing where he lives) in the event I get arrested for rabble-rousing. Consider me part of the Auntie Brigade.

Non-violent civil disobedience can result in arrests. And in trying to arrest hordes of disobeyers, the arresters may become somewhat overwhelmed and thus become self-incapacitated.

Though sometimes they’ve prepared plentiful oubliettes and transport thereto. One of the less triumphant episodes of Eyes on the Prize focuses on that.

Even so, though, you’re right— making vultures gag and do so publicly is useful, though/because costly.

"They’re doing their jobs."

No, they're not. Their jobs do not include breaking the law, which is what they are knowingly doing. "I was just following orders" does not have a good track record as a defense.

The Dems really did not take Jan 6th seriously! Thump & Guliani should have been YANKED OFF THAT STAGE the minute he said " We are going to the Capitol..." and tossed in the closest holding cell! Did congress members need to actually be assualted before that attack can be called an attack?? And WHY our own "supreme" court would rule AGAINST 20 Govenors, calling for an article 14, will NEVER make any sense! I mean HOW can 12 appointed judges have more power over 20 ELECTED Govenors??!🤯🤯 THIS court acts like co-conspirators more than representatives of the LAW! sorry i get on my "soap box" alot lately!

This is very helpful. Thank you, Susan, for sharing it. I am at Bradley Airport where I am happy to report Southwest Airlines did not get Trump's memo. The gate is festooned with balloons and banners celebrating Black History Month. I'll let you know if the anti-DEI police show up.

West Texan here just outside the 100 mile boundary. I have a stack of cards in my car, purse, pocket in English & Spanish that has bullet points on rights. My Espiscopal church is on this and we are doing what we can to educate our community as we have a large Latino population in the Permian Basin. 💙

I’d argue that there is flight from mainstream Christian churches because the churches haven’t been as welcoming as Jesus.

Anyone can easily make these cards. Google "Red Cards". Print out the cards on red card stock. Cut them out, and laminate them if you can. Keep them on you at all times and hand them out.

Susan is spot on. Former Law Enforcement Officer (LEO) here. The 4th Amendment is alive and well. Also ICE cannot legally do traffic stops outside the 100 mile border. They have to get local LEOs involved and that does not just happen. Listen. I encourage everyone to buy or get a pocket size US Constitution and carry it with you everywhere you go. Also do two things. Read the 4th amendment and understand inside and backward. Also, Google the cans and cannots of the jurisdiction of ICE. WE have an obligation to support and protect our fellow citizens.

One other thing. I immolate implore to download a copy of the Oath of Office, taken by everyone who serves in the US Government. We have sworn to defend the Constitution of the US against ALL enemies foreign AND domestic!!!

Susan Campbell's avatar

Go online and you’ll find a lot of options for a pocket Constitution. I got mine, I believe, from the ACLU though that was a while ago and mine is pretty tattered and I probably need a new one. STAY INFORMED. How can you protect your or others’ rights if you don’t know your rights? And thank you, Janice.
