My friends and I completed 600 postcards for Judge Susan Crawford in Wisconsin yesterday.

Even before you hit the mailbox, tell Schumer to vote no. I understand why he thinks the damage will be disastrous - and it will. But they'll find another way to do it anyway - one that does not require being complicit. Call his office, post on his FB site, etc. And fast!

Photo of my snarky cards -- don't think I can post it here.

Doesn't make sense from Yorkshire. US mail is slow out of the base, and I would have to get the cards to the base. Maybe I'll do some anyway and ask Sheeyun to take them in tomorrow, when he is going to the base mostly for the treadmill, I think.

Periodically I have remembered the "president for now" postcards from his last administration and thought of sending more. :D

Wish I could add a pick of my postcards. We had a family postcard party on Wednesday. Such fun and now I am ready to mail them out tomorrow morning. I also printed out my FOIA request, and was pleasantly surprised that my husband did, too.

I sent my FOIA to the APO this morning, too!

I’m looking forward to seeing what information they have on me. I hope my file is exciting because I kind of think I’ve lived a boring life.

I’m sure you have. But they don’t really reckon females, you know. Because they’re not just misogynistic patriarchs, but fools.

I remembered that I have a stash of leftie postcards from the Syracuse Workers Collective, so I sent six postcards addressed to the president (and two addressed to Senator Schumer) to the APO with Sheeyun this morning.

Important short-notice news: Rebecca Solnit says:

"It's happening fast. Marianna Sotomayor reports:

“If Republicans in Congress want to pass this bill, they should do so with their own votes. However, since they cannot, Republicans must work with Democrats to pass a clean CR,” said the letter, signed by more than 50 lawmakers. The letter was obtained exclusively by The Washington Post. “The American people sent Democrats to Congress to fight against Republican dysfunction and chaos.”

The letter was put together swiftly by Rep. Derek Tran, a freshman Democrat from California who flipped a GOP-held district in 2024 by roughly 600 votes. Tran decided to draft the letter and began whipping his colleagues to sign it Thursday night amid outrage among House Democrats gathered at their annual retreat in Leesburg, Virginia. Many Democrats believe Schumer’s decision to support the GOP funding bill limits their leverage to push back against the Trump administration in a united manner.

House Democrats from across the ideological spectrum have sensed anger by their voting base in their districts, many of whom want lawmakers to put up a fight now. It has influenced even vulnerable swing district Democrats to come out strongly in opposition to the funding bill. The signatories come from all over the country and range from moderate to liberal lawmakers."
