Fabulous. Everything. You, New Mexico, the trip, Tit, and most especially your relationship to that place and that person. Thank you. This is one of the best things I have read in a long time. Dare I say it? We all need Tits.
New Mexico is beautiful. When I was in my late teens I was hitchhiking and got caught in a rain storm late at night in Albuquerque. Soaked, I decided to get off the highway and find some shelter. As luck would have it, I came across the Salvation Army that was open. I didn’t find God but the Captain that was there let me crash on one of the pews, dry my stuff and they fed me breakfast in the morning. After breakfast I got back on the road and made it to Santa Fe later that day. There was no preaching or pressure, just shelter from the storm. Ever since I make sure to drop a few bucks in their kettle around Christmas. Have fun. Have some blue corn tortillas for me.
I will eat my weight in those. And I love that story. Jesus is best digested when he’s wrapped in a peanut butter sandwich. Or a breakfast. Let your kindness do the talking.
Actually, you DO heal us along your way. Or at the least… you pull us into your sibling band and let us bang a tambourine while you do the real work… and while we all figure out how to live in a world with a cruel big daddy rapist felon butting into our business.
I'll be out there, in a much wetter and greener part of the world, eyes and ears open for any signs from the beyond. I do hope to return feeling slightly different and enlightened in some way, or at least happy and refreshed. Though I've never met Tit, I feel like I know him. So, give him a giant hug from me. I hope you both find what you need together in the desert. 🏜
Oh, have fun! We go to the Drury Hotel in Albuquerque in a few weeks and we will drive down to Roswell; that is, after we make ourselves ill at Sadie’s! I ride to Lincoln to visit my childhood hero’s museum, good ole’ Billy the Kid!
This is heartwarming - you are so fortunate to have this kind of relationship with your brother - and maybe you are healing people by making them laugh!
Odd, Susan. I realized I had not had any recent posts from you, so googled, 'susan campbell's substack', which came right up, and showed me as a subscriber. This is the 2nd time it has happened. This time, the last post I got was on Jul 9th, where people were complaining about what you don't talk about (dummies). I'm caught up now, but puzzled as to why my emails of your posts just stop. anyone else having a problem? And, to save you wondering; first thing I do is check spam posts on my desktop when I first open it in the AM
Have a wonderful time with Tit! I will live vicariously thru your tales. Some things are falling apart now and there’s no vacation planned for us this year. But in two weeks I get to see one of my “tits” and am looking forward to that time. NM is one state I haven’t visited yet but am looking forward to it.

OK. I’m laughing. “We all need Tits.”
Well, we all needs balls as well (you certainly have them!).
Enjoy! Take some time for yourself and family. The absurdities will be piling up, waiting for your return.
Won’t they just?

Peanut butter is life.
A trip out West has always been a dream of mine, unfortunately unfulfilled. But have so much fun that gas station becomes a reality!
(I always wanted to be a healer but barring that, I’ll just pump gas.)
Santa Fe is one of the most beautiful places on Earth. Have a wonderful time. Soak up the beauty, and the Presence.
Thank you.
Have a great time in New Mexico!!

Safe journey.
We get through this — crap childhoods, crap administrations — together.
Have a great trip!

Thank you, friend. Enjoy the wet green.

This sounds a lot like our itinerary! We will take you along in spirit.
You bet!
*wave* to Tit from here
He’s waving back.

Thank you. We were out for dinner tonight and I laughed myself simple
