Every D who voted to censure should be primaried in 2026.

Himes is not mine -- I believe he represents the Gold Coast -- but I will communicate my displeasure anyway.

His website doesn't allow non-constituents to communicate with him. I suppose I should have put in the address of the house I used to own in Danbury.

I let Rosa DeLauro know, and maybe she'll communicate that to him the next time she sees him.

I’m speechless that any Democrats voted to censure Al Green. I was shocked and disappointed that not one stood up with him in the assembly. If just one person had stood up and repeated what he said it there would’ve been a ripple effect, and it would’ve really helped morale.

I was waiting for that, as well. Of course people are free to attend or not but if you attend, please do more than act as a paperweight.

I agree! I wanted MORE disruption, or at least a mass exit. He didn't deserve respect during his lie and hate filled speech, intermingled with performance give aways. And after what he's done so far, the whole thing should have been forcefully protested. These are NOT normal times, dammit!

For that slit second as Rep. Greene stood up to A$$H@+, I thought the dems FINALLY grew spines…maybe this was finally a show of resistance…maybe one by one they’d follow suit!! Oh, yes, finally!

But no…they let Greene stand alone in his indignation.

While they held up their little paddles…

Dear god, stop being polite!!!

It seemed like a missed opportunity to make a powerful statement about the slide to authoritarianism. Holding "False" signs, especially when cameras barely saw them because they where focused on the felon, was not what I wanted to see. They needed to forcefully make a statement that would get people in the media talking about the threat of authoritarianism, not simply about the felon and whether something he said was or wasn't true. A simple accusation: "Our Democracy is under threat by an authoritarian leader!" should have been made by all of them followed by a mass exit, IMO.

So disappointed with Rep. Himes and the others. What is wrong with them. This isn't the time to play nice--look at what the Republicans are doing and what they are saying. Himes represents the 4th Congressional District, the Gold Coast. Swords Up!!

Of course a condescending “you sound angry” is an item in the patriarchal armamentum. And in various styles gets used repeatedly by oppressors against their victims. And there is no end to it.

I like, “You bet I’m angry. Here’s why.”

I refuse the judgeship of oppressors, and they do assume in so many spheres that it is innately theirs.

Context-building and judgment were handed to the GOP in the Reagan era, not that I ever knew why. And we see what they do with it.

Yes, so people who are angry, are thus losers and rude, and those who don’t demonstrate anger clearly must agree with them. 🙄

I call Rep. Himes Bridgeport office at 203-333-6600 and left a VM about my disappointment in his vote, and asked if he will be introducing a measure to censure Rep. Greene for heckling Joe Biden. Said I hope we see better from him starting tomorrow.

So what Democrats did not attend? The only way I can reconcile Hines behaviors as if you just wanted the whole thing to end. So we could go home. It’s a hell of a lot better than having a heart attack like another representative. I would like to point out that most likely this is an example of how we just don’t get it. White males are worried about their stock portfolios not what’s going to happen to their family members whose skin is dark.

Bless and high five Al Greene. But censure him? And NOT censure the Republicans (and whoever else joined them) who chanted as Al left the chamber ‘ na na na nah hey hey hey goodbye?’ Talk about no decorum !!!!

Again— shame shame on the Democrats who did nothing to support Al Greene.

⚔️ up !!

Copied from my facebook post:

After reading Susan Campbell's latest, I made two phone calls and I hope you do the same regardless of where you live.

My first call was to Texas Representative Al Green to thank him for standing up and showing no tolerance for what is crashing down around us. His number in Washington is 202-225-7508.

My second call was to CT Representative Jim Hines to register my opposition to his being among the few Democrats who voted to censure Rep. Green. His number is 202-225-5541. I was directed to Hime's official statement and Ishare it here with you:

“In 2009, I voted to hold Congressman Joe Wilson accountable for yelling ‘you lie’ at President Obama during his State of the Union Address. Today, I voted to censure Congressman Al Green for a much larger disruption. Unlike my Republican colleagues and President Trump, I believe that rules, decorum, and accountability are important regardless of political party and beliefs. If we cannot stand on principle and act with the seriousness our nation deserves, our government will devolve further into the kindergarten it has already become.”

So while we're in a fight for our lives, being asked to resist and raise our voices and do whatever we can to stop the world from crashing down on us, Jim Himes voted to censure one of the few people in D.C. with an actual spine because he broke decorum. I look forward to reports of how Rep. Himes helps save the day by being nice.

Right. Hey, Jim! As you said, the felon ALREADY has already dragged the government into kindergarten. The response is not to pretend the kindergarteners will lead like adults. The response is to leave the room during bad behavior, take charge, protect the country, and be the adult.

BAM! Good talk, Susan. I'm damned mad too. Every time I get an email, asking for donations, I let 'em have it. I say, "Not one damned penny until I see Congress grouping up to do something about the dismantling of the laws put in place by themselves! Tired of hearing the BS; just get the Hell to work". Jim Himes: go mow your lawn or something. We don't need your kind.
