I've been watching and reading, too. For the first time ever, I've been linked into Reddit. It's all horrifying. What is over the top chilling is reading Belarus has joined Russia and that it changed its Constitution to allow it to receive nukes from Russia. That's terrifying.
All that gallantry seems like the heart of tragedy to me. And I worry that USians see it and cheer and think "Then that's all right, then." Because TV shows and feeling as if we don't need to do anything, ourselves, are our heart blood.
As you say, not a TV show.
Did you hear or read this weekend's This American Life, partly rebooting 2017 material, about Putin's use and self-embedding in reality theatre to reach and manage power, in part with the help of Peter Pomerantsev? https://www.thisamericanlife.org/763/the-other-mr-president In part I thought what a bond that would be between the last US president and Putin.
11th commandment:
“ Thou Shalt not be a bystander. “
Amen.
Thank you for this post!
Love WCK! He is leading us all. ❤️
I’ve been donating to World Central Kitchen, led by Chef Jose Andres. They are serving thousands of meals to Ukrainian refugees as they cross the Polish border. https://wck.org/ https://wjla.com/news/local/jose-andres-world-central-kitchen-wck-serves-thousands-hot-meals-families-fleeing-ukraine-dc-chef-and-humanitarian-russian-invasion-help-food-vladimir-putin-medyka-poland-romania-odessa-lviv
He is just the most incredible man ever. That's a great charity.

Lukashenko is cut from the same cloth as Putin. Shame on the both of them.
Yes. The situation continues to worsen.
Yes. And it just may get worse. It's easy to get lost in the inspiring (to me) stories and forget there are people dying in the streets there.
At least a couple of the oligarchs are not happy.

And that just makes me smile.
Oh, I hope that those soldiers survived!

Just saw a news report. They’re alive. They were taken as prisoners by Russia.
Bother. Vladislav Surkov. Peter Pomerantsev is the name of the journalist talking about Surkov.
I hadn’t listened to that but now I will.
