Welcome to climate.us, the successor to climate.gov. Climate.us was created by former NOAA scientists fired by Trump after the current administration began putting into action their false belief that climate change is a hoax.
In addition to Trump, thank climate-denying Elon Musk and his band of misfit-bros at DOGE for the government backing out of the serious information game. But then, who needs data when you have such a well-oiled propaganda machine?
Just the website’s dashboard alone is worth the time to go visit. There are also great resources for teaching about the climate, and the climate resilience toolkit is fascinating. This kind of thing gives me hope, like a flower growing up through the pavement.
In my college days I took a science course, Introduction to Ecology. The professor, Dr. Cunningham taught us that the world's supply of oil was going to run out in 20 years. That was WAY back in the early 70's and it has always stuck with me. So here we are 50 years later still pumping away, depleting the ozone, etc. I relate this story only to show that information as taught back then can change for many reasons. We have adequate supplies of oil, maybe due to environmental controls on vehicles, etc. Those of us who read and follow Susan's Substack know Project 2025 disputed climate change and once MAGA took over our government many scientific and climate related agencies were decimated. MAGA has NO regard for our environment and we are all paying the cost!
I can't do it. I can't comment about the travesty of the impact of THE DONALD on the entire world. I do want to say that he will die soon. Soon enough? NO. But when I ponder the aftermath of his death, I keep thinking about "The Death of Stalin (2017)". It is a satire, but hey, that fits with today's environment.
