Restitution could start with every member of the Sedition Caucus admitting in print and on national television that the allegations of allegations of voter fraud (allegations all the way down) were nothing but lies. Personally, if anyone I know who voted for T**** has not repudiated him by now, they are gone from my life. There's nothing more to discuss, and there's no "middle" we can meet at.
Forgive me. I thought I replied to this. I honestly don’t see how we talk to people who embrace nonsense. What’s our common ground? That we all love our country? Is that even a common denominator?
But the mistrust runs deep. Trump helped that along but not-trusting the government, the courts, the press is not new. How do we rebuild that? (And I am NOT talking about for all. Some are too far gone.
Good question. I can only brainstorm on it, and there are smarter people than me who would have better ideas. I do think people in public office should be held to a standard of truth-telling on important issues and there should be consequences for lying to the public on these things. How that could be done, I'm not sure. It's insane how some politicians can get away with making up an alternative, false reality for the purposes of gathering personal power.
I'm watching CNN right now with one eye, a story about Melania Trump, and her being "victimized," which I imagine she thinks is true but the timing and the wording is just too ugly to comprehend.

Exactly! At minimum, there needs to be a common understanding of what's true - of reality.
