Sacrifice his daughter? And people get mad when I say religion is an invention of the patriarchy. The guy could have sacrificed a finger or hand or his.........never mind.

As for Hawley. He doesn’t want to sit through a trial and hear the evidence? So much for being from the “Show Me” state.

So much for "Thou shalt not kill."

But to the point, regardless of what they sign, Hawley, Cruz, Graham, and the rest of the Trump supporters won't be impartial because it doesn't serve their selfish interests and there are no real consequences if they just do what they want. Signing the oath means nothing to them. If only God could step in and give them a good talking to. That, or slap them.

Right. So despite my snotty little "whatevs, Mary," it's a big damn deal. My God would slap them. She doesn't goof around. I don't know how you pretend to be impartial when you vote against the constitutionality of the actual process.

I have to say, ol' Josh is the antithesis of the kind of people I want to love. How's THAT for a backdoor "I can't stand his insides." The link I added at the bottom of this post is another interpretation, that he didn't actually sacrifice his daughter, just that he "fulfilled his oath," which might mean he stuck his daughter in something akin to today's nunnery. I don't actually know, but Jaysus, how harsh is THAT?

Susan, this was one of your best. I envision Hawley, in particular, spontaneously combusting as he is about to cast his vote, and, as in the Pentecostal moment, watching those tongues of flame jump, flickering like a serpent’s tongue, from Hawley to Ryan, to the next senator whose finger hovers over the acquit button, to the next, to the next... A girl can dream, I suppose.

When you walk around with a 5-year old's sense of justice, life can be pretty difficult these days. These people are egregious. And thank you.
