We -- Connecticut -- must never, EVER become complacent about reproductive rights, or voting rights, or any other rights. The MAGA Party is here, in every town, as shown by the latest MAGA Party (formerly known as the Republican Party) primary for US Senator. The MAGA Party goes to school board meetings to protest "CRT", library board meetings to protest books, and they will be watchers at every polling place in CT on November 8.
Sadly my city, Bristol, a former Democratic stronghold, has gone all in for the Insurrectionists! The mayor and entire council along with the CGA delegation are committed to anti-women, anti-government, pro gun, pro big business right wing madness. They are not held accountable for the positions they take, they do not respond to what's left of the press when questioned. We know they do not believe Biden is the legitimate President. They will continue to spin conspiracy theories at the expense of governing for the common good. The local D's did not even put up a candidate for the 78th district which will now be represented by a young Trumpanzee. So we are not Kansas, we seem not to be motivated by a cause or purpose. The state D's even threw their support to a former R probate judge who should NEVER serve in elected office. Many here have their swords up and are ready but Levy winning the primary should serve as a wake up call that the LOUDS can shake up those who are F D and H!
When I hear GOP pols anxiously bleating about how *dems* think women aren't interested in *anything* but their *wombs* unlike *Republicans*, then I'll figure their polling is causing them worry. I may have missed it, but to my surprise I haven't been hearing/seeing that. Yet.
Yeah, but it *couldn't* be important, because woman thing. You know how the ladies are always fussing about nothing.
And I'm sure they can Easily Imagine its simplicity and unimportance!
I remember yet again my statutory teenage Terrible Boyfriend saying, upon news about an ectopic pregnancy amid the intestines, that this showed that men could bear children....
I registered to vote in my CT town by going to town hall and registering in person at the town registrar's office. I'm looking online and can't tell if that's still an option. A would-be voter could always call their town hall and ask, but online seems easiest. Remember that it can take up to three weeks to get confirmation from the town's registrar, and you can't vote until you get that confirmation. By all means, register early.
If anyone is not comfortable using a computer or does not have a computer to use (the digital divide is real), they can use a computer and/or get tech help at their public library - and it's free.

This is an excellent point. I intend to work the polls. We all need to be vigilant, in whatever (legal and honorable) form that takes for us.
I completed the online form to be a poll worker, but I haven't heard anything. I guess my town has a full complement with a waiting list.
I've worked the polls in my town before, so I hope they have my name on file, but I filled out a new form, regardless.
You nailed it Sharon!

You have a selected, smart group of people who are pushing against this, you included. My money's on you.
Swords up! 🤺
Thumbs held hard.

I find it odd that Republicans would t see the importance of a womb. I mean, they sure seem to want to legislate wombs a lot.

Thank you for some much needed good news. I will never take my ability to vote for granted.
What's the easiest way for a person to register to vote?
Thank you for this. The easiest way, depending on computer literacy, is this: https://voterregistration.ct.gov/OLVR/welcome.do

Great addition. Thank you.
Thank you.
Phew. Glad you caught that in time to vote.
