Great job Joanna! I am so impressed with my fellow members of Susan’s “Soup Brigade”…..we are in a do or die fight!

I am so impressed, as well. Joanna -- as have all the authors -- found things in those chapters I overlooked. I thought I'd read "Project 2025," all 900+ pages of -- but now I realize I only skimmed it. This was a fantastic piece, and Joanna did us a huge service writing it.

Susan, this virus is knocking my socks off. I will not go into hospital here at any cost. So we are speeding home. I apologize I am not up to my character; suffice it to say it’s a mess.

Un-freaking-believable! Thanks for the summary, Joanna.

I’m a Christian who is all for supporting families, but my definition of who and what gender can form a family is surely looser than that of these Neanderthals in the Heritage Foundation. Some of them likely would never have been born had unions not formed decades ago. Too many women and teens working 12-16 hrs/day for much less pay than a man’s salary had no time to look for a husband. An alarming number of them died or were injured working in unsafe factories. A building full of them died when a fire broke out and exit doors had been locked by a supervisor to make sure no one left before working an entire shift.

And they want no special consideration shown to the disabled. They love harping on the topic of homeless vets, They need to read some US history. Homeless veterans began appearing in large numbers after WWI because there were few jobs offered to vets who were physically disabled while in battle or suffered “shell shock” afterward. Fast forward to today: make it harder for a disabled person to get job training or a job. Cut SNAP (food stamps) and Medicaid. Get rid of all unions for any kind of worker. Then tell me again how these ultra-conservative Christians represent the working class and how well they follow the Biblical commands to help the needy, treat others as they want to be treated and love others.

Written out like this, it's pretty stunning (and Joanna did a great job for us). I mean, my God.
