JP Staples is of course a young monster, as are Mike Collins and all his other admirers.
And I expect he's also a victim. Of the adults in his upbringing who acculturated him to this stance and likely to view it as unjustly beleaguered and a proud identity to defend.
One of the reasons I worry about homeschooling is that it is as designed to be an abuse factory as to be a freedom factory. Probably more.
When the people who are our supposed leaders model bad behavior, they send a message to the public (especially young people) that their behavior is acceptable and may be rewarded. It's so important to hold our elected officials to a higher standard - and yet we haven't been doing a good job of that over the last decade while this individual has been growing up.
I would say, don't underestimate the toxic environment of fraternities (think "tRump rally", only way more expensive) ... but even his kicked him out (worried, no doubt, about their status on campus if things go down).
I know fraternities have particularly bad reputations but I don't want to assume those reputations are entirely earned ("Animal House" comes to mind). But good Lord.
I think they are better in some cases than "back then" - but I lived on frat row for three years at the Animal House role model school. The culture can vary from house to house ... but social constraints are rare. Anyway - good for his house for kicking him out.
The goofballs act like bigots and racist until they are called out
Then they run and cry and play the victim
I’ve been seeing goofballs doing this crap for years
The root cause of racism and bigotry is ignorance and stupidity
Bless their hearts.

I debated writing this. This is a young adult, but then, at what point do young adults get held accountable for their behavior?
Oh, absolutely.
I'm just thinking what a settled Factory o'Horror we're running in the States.

The fully formed adults SHOULD know better. And yet, it's some of the adults who have power and influence who exhibit some of the worst behavior!
There are no excuses for this behavior by the college student and especially the Congressman. Hell of a way to start the week. Ugh! Swords Up.
What did his parents teach this child ?

I’m a day late and I think I posted this before (if I didn’t, one of you all might have). Mary Ann’s comment about home schooling brought it to mind.
