I was thinking about the Carters yesterday; thinking how they upset the tables in Washington by not playing the usual power-games. Honest, introspective, human and hard-working, the powers-that-be were baffled and threatened. Sounds like the story of their teacher (and mine.) May she rest in peace.
I wrote a poem about President Carter, Very conscious that I would have liked to write one about Mrs. Carter, but simply didn't know enough. I suppose she chose that.
Sadly both Carters attempted politically to use their faith and hope into charity to order to further peace and not power, which is frighteningly very absent currently and a threat to all.
No ex-president and ex-first lady have done more good for the world than Mr. and Mrs. Carter. Not even close.
Not to mention, Rosalynn was a damn good First Lady.
Amen to all of this.
She walked the walk! May she be numbered among the Saints in Heaven......
She was a true follower of Jesus who took the Sermon on the Mount literally and seriously.

Amen.
Humility and grace. An amazing couple. No wonder he knew he would marry her after his first date.
