When women aren't human beings but unfree labor, means to ends, prizes or punchlines, killing a bunch or undermining their health/lives isn't important, and probably just shows how inferior they were.

Agree with all you wrote. Earlier this week Biden signed an executive order to expand women's health research by committing billions of dollars to the National Institutes of Health. It is so needed because for too long medications, treatments and medical school textbooks are based on men and their bodies. (By the way, Yale's Dr. Carolyn Mazure who started Women's Health Research at Yale, attended the order-signing ceremony. )

Oh! That's very cool and somehow, that slipped in without me knowing it.

Such an important issue --- women's health research -- receives sparse news coverage. The media is too busy covering DT's every twist and turn.

As my wife was about to give birth to our daughter her nurse in the maternity ward at New Britain General commented how it was good to see an adult couple in the ward. When we asked what she meant she told us that a TWELVE year old was also there about to give birth. In my naïveté I did not even realize that a child of 12 could get pregnant. In the 30 years since I have been properly schooled on the subject but to this day wonder what became of the child being born to a child?!? Women are under attack and facing serious consequences. Again my naïveté had me thinking “The Handmaids Tale” was fiction!

I agree ! Cast your vote in all elections from local don't forget your Board of Education is important to state and federal. And I completely agree with Mary Ann and Lynne DeLucia. With the likes of Texas Governor from Hell yoked in with the Orange Man women are already in a precarious position trying to implement our decisions about our bodies and our lives. Since the orange man with help of spineless Republicans put sub human SCOTUS members on the bench we women seem to be on a backward track to become chattel again. It's frightening. I have trouble sleeping as my nightmares are terrifying.

For my part I am supporting my representatives, local, state and federal and I am wearing my VOTE necklace and am singing my VOTE ad jingle frequently. Na na na na hey hey hey GO VOTE.

I like the Handmaids Tale as it was a warning to us all for the future, when it was written. Instead of calmly sitting around thinking it could never happen, we must take action and vote!

Children who have children, have no chance to advance their lives. Many of their babies are raised by the grandparents but even then there is a struggle as the grandparents hadn’t even finished raising their kids. I saw this years ago, as a social worker. It’s very sad.

I am sickened by the Republicans saying that they care for the lives of poor children; up until the baby is born, and then forget helping them. It’s disgusting.
