Rep. Ro Khanna (D-Calif.) is introducing a bill that asks that the entire Epstein files — all of them — be released to the public. This bill would force every member of the House of Representatives to go public as to whether they believe in the rule of law, or whether they want to keep hidden a list of pedophiles.
AG Pamela Bondi released a portion of the files (the “first phase”) back in February, then last week she suggested there was no client list, and we should all move on with our lives.
As if.
Even some Republicans are not moving on. Nor should they.
Here’s the timeline of the awful affair, right up to March of this year. If Ghislaine Maxwell got 20 years for her involvement for her part of a “scheme to sexual exploit and abuse multiple minor girls,” those minor girls did not sexually exploit themselves and there is a list.
This latest twist — denying a promised list exists — belies any honest explanation, other than highly-placed people are looking to hide the gross acts of other highly-placed people. Meanwhile, the young girls who’ve made it to womanhood deserve far better than this.
And besides: If Trump is defending Bondi, we should probably assume the files contain some truly horrific content.
Are there Democrats on that list? Release the list.
Are there people we all kind of admired? Release the list.
I agree that the Epstein files should be released. But what troubles me—- with all the outrageous things that this administration has done to immigrants, the poor, the closings of federal aid — that the non-release of the Epstein files is what MAGA is fired up about. What does it say about our country and the people living in it. Guess I should no longer be surprised ( sadly) .
So, when is Ghislane Maxwell being released from prison???
