If you go to roughly 3:53 here, you can watch Pres. Zelensky soaring speech to the U.S. Congress from last night.
We got to hear top-level diplomacy and heart-felt messages from an incredible world leader. If you could say something back to the Ukrainian president, what would it be?
I think I might just say, “Thank you,” and maybe “See you in victorious Ukraine.”
I have been reading about the conduct of some of the Republicans during the speech last night. It's make me very angry. You have to have respect for the legislative body you represent. But those clowns did not.
MLK said "The bombs in Vietnam explode at home; they destroy the hopes and possibilities for a decent America.”
We must question why war in the 21st century has not changed. MLK's quote is relevant tofay. Why has the USA now have leading manufactures that profit as much as other international merchants of dealth, who only prepare for violence under the disquise of "protecting our freedom"? Why is Zelenskyy invited by Democrates to talk to the US Congress, just as Benjamin Netanyahu is invited by Republicans to talk to Congress a few years ago. Why are these leaders paraded to the Americn public in this way? . I wish there was more diplomacy at the UN then performance before our politicians who are dependent on weapons manufacturers. May the Peace and nonviolence of a Merry Christmas season be with you all.
Thank you for your thoughtful remarks. We had this discussion last night, after the speech. I agree that the UN would be an appropriate place to settle a conflict but how long do the Ukrainian people need to wait while the diplomats slip into their desks and settle this? I also agree that the budget is far too heavily weighted to arms. But Putin. And Kharkiv. And Christmas in a subway. And centuries of a culture and dead civilians.
Thanks for the reminder that the very best leaders walk their talk ❤️ You have deserve our country's deep admiration, absolute respect, and undying support
I think it's always good to ask if this war is our war. I think we SHOULD ask this. But I would equate sitting this one out with the isolationism that was around during WWII. I admire pacifism. I (and I'm stealing this quote from someone) don't know that we live in a world where that is possible just yet.
We are with you. Keep up the good fight.
There you go.

They're worthless, and I mean that sincerely.
