It's like the assignment went out: think of something mean to say about childless women.

Meanwhile, Arkansas's stats on divorce, homicide, suicide, and highway deaths are among the highest in the nation. Church attendance is lagging, too. I guess thoughts and prayers just don't have the power they used to.

Or maybe they don’t work in godless Arkansas. Haha. See what I did there?

It's an insane attack, coming from the side that supports the guy who has children from 3 different marriages and the cheated on his current wife with a porn star while she was home with their infant child. (And has multiple allegations and one suit for sexual assaults) And now, he rarely spends time with his current wife and son. I am finding it impossible to connect the dots to "humble". Actually, "humble" isn't even in the same universe as TFG!

But see, the accusations don't apply to men, childless or otherwise.

Fascinating, yes? Because a woman is only a woman in relation to others. She cannot be a separate person.

Of course having kids or not has not been discussed as it relates to men in politics. Men have different rules. We don't even care much if men are married or not, or if their wife doesn't show up during the campaign, or if she almost never is even in the same home with him, or if he sleeps with a porn star while his wife is home with their new baby. A man apparently doesn't even need to be humble anyway, because certain men believe being humble is a sign of weakness.

The DT campaign is grasping at straws and keeps using personal attacks and racist lies to rile up their band of bullies that is the MAGA base.

I just watched Doug Emoff give a great speech regarding this subject, sorry I cannot link to you all but he was so articulate in his stance defending his wife and family against the misogynists. Limpseed and Scottie, 2 of the dumbest Senators who just happened to be from the same state, have NO credibility but we live in the age of MAGAism where lies, hate and lack of credibility are in vogue!?!

I suspect that GOP touts are just flinging out excuses not to vote for Harris-Walz and/or to vote for Trump/Vance. If any one of them works on anyone, it’s good by them— the base doesn’t ding them for excuses that don’t work for them, no matter how silly or repulsive they are.

And maybe it’s not so much about the election. Maybe it’s primarily about keeping people haplessly shrugging during a post-vote-count coup.

Thisnis true. It’s one brand of political strategy to disengage people with ignorant rhetoric, make them so disgusted they don’t bother to vote.

Just know that right here in good ole blue CT elected R's are in lock step with the misogynists! Who is holding them accountable? In my city of Bristol the D's have not even put up candidates to challenge the CGA R's all of them MAGAists!!!

IMO, the GOP is still trying to convince us all that, they are the party of 'family'. They don't give a damn about children after they are born, but their sound byte works well with the 'Christians/Evangelicals' who believe that Democrats kill babies. It's all they've got!

I was raised an evangelical (fundamentalist, actually) and I was taught to discern and think. When did that stop happening among my brothers and sisters?

Sadly, I think too many of them are just happy to be told what to think; it's so much easier. Growing up, I had a dear Uncle, who was a fire and brimstone Evangelical preacher, whom I cannot for the life of me, imagine understanding ANY need EVER, for an abortion. Everything, no matter what; everything was God's will. Simple, simple....thoughts and prayers.

I love this question, which I'd never heard nor thought of.

I suspect it happened when the tax-breaks-for-segregation-academies gang hooked up with the James Buchanan bunch and realized that conservative Protestants were an underutilized power pool for votes/juntas. They had the traditions of scriptural reasoning ad fonts, and the emphasis on authority to work with, and for the bulk of fundamentalist marks they leaned hard on authority. (I think they also valued and exploited the practiced reasoning processes that could be kept within a pen of hard right tenets as readily* as it stayed within the texts of the Bible (and The Fundamentals)-- both rife with internal contradictions.

* Exactly as readily-- so some people reasoned their way out of those contexts.

Let Sanders & Vance blather on about how being childless makes a woman “less than”. Every time they run their mouths another person who’s never given birth decides to vote for Harris. My sister the educator who influences the lives of 100 high school age children daily, the nuns who feed dozens of needy children at a soup kitchen 6 days/wk.,the nuns who manage a shelter for homeless children & their mothers, the 3 women who head up non-profit organizations that benefit children, several social workers who are advocates for children, nurses who care for children daily, the business woman who donates part of her profits to a children’s hospital are examples I know of such voters. Project 2025 is a chilling threat to our country!

It is all a distraction because they don’t want to discuss policies because their policies are frightening. (Just read Project 2025). Authoritarians, like DT and his gang of thugs, have no place in a democracy. Shame on Sanders and all of them for following, instead of leading. Disappointing.

Yes, these diversionary tactics make campaigning a nightmare. Do you ignore it and plough on about topics that are important - and very few seem to care about - or do you jump into the drama? Today's latest is just another - are you kidding me? "(CNN) — Mark Robinson, the controversial and socially conservative Republican nominee for governor of North Carolina, made a series of inflammatory comments on a pornography website’s message board more than a decade ago, in which he referred to himself as a “black NAZI!” and expressed support for reinstating slavery, a CNN KFile investigation found.

Despite a recent history of anti-transgender rhetoric, Robinson said he enjoyed watching transgender pornography, a review of archived messages found in which he also referred to himself as a “perv.”

I'd hoped we'd never see or hear Sarah Suckabee after she wandered back to Arkansas but Trump encourages all kind of vermin to come out and join his dung heap campaign.
