Weren't all the murdering male companions white, too? It seems to me that gets glossed over, the same way that the fact that most mass murderers, whether by shootings or bombings, are white men. The subject immediately gets changed to "Oh, yeah? Well, black-on-black crime!" The effect of all the media attention is to make it appear that these are very rare, and therefore newsworthy, events, when in fact they aren't rare at all.
I needn’t remind you that not long ago, some intelligent people voted for the orange marmalade.
I do believe those intelligent people did so, not because they believed he was capable, but because his thinking was that of white entitlement. The fear of nonwhites having power/control/influence, strikes fear in the breast of their understanding of the American ideal.
The women listed are not only white but young. I could be wrong but I doubt a missing white woman in her 70’s, like I am, would get that much attention.
Thank you. I grieve for all the families who do not receive the same validation that their loved ones matter. Then… how about we have ALL of these lost women stop being hurt?
You are reading my mind! When do you have time to do this, too? Another thought … the new standard is to give up so many commas in our writing. Did I just make a comma mistake?
Who knew this little comma went to court and won? I didn’t. Perhaps you did.
Who cares about the Oxford comma?
The answer historically has been grammar nerds, Strunk & White and those who follow the infamous Chicago vs. AP writing style guide debate.
After this lawsuit a few years ago, we added dairy driver to the list.
That’s because an appellate court ruled in favor of Maine dairy drivers in a labor dispute that hinged on the oft-debated piece of punctuation.
For anyone who’s ever wondered what all the fuss is about over Oxford commas, the circuit judge’s 2017 opinion says it all: “For want of a comma, we have this case.”
I'm trying to remember who it was whose husband killed her in the 1990s, and the authorities were looking for a Black male stranger per husband's claims, and news commentators kept saying "it was only natural that the authorities would look for a Black stranger because statistics!" when any true crime reader would know that murders of women are overwhelmingly perpetrated by male spouses or partners. I thought it was Laci Peterson, but her unfortunate demise was later....

That’s an excellent point.
Thank you, for writing my anger.
I just keep thinking we should be farther along than this.

This is another good point. Once we're past child-bearing years, I guess our value diminishes.
I admit it. I'm a pedant: It should be fiancé.
I’ll admit it. I need an editor. And I’ll fix that.
Thank you. I grieve for all the families who do not receive the same validation that their loved ones matter. Then… how about we have ALL of these lost women stop being hurt?
Geez, you made my insides churn the morning. Keep the truth coming, its good for this old white woman.
You are reading my mind! When do you have time to do this, too? Another thought … the new standard is to give up so many commas in our writing. Did I just make a comma mistake?
That is beyond my pay grade. I am not a fan of the Oxford comma, if that helps.

But the more important point snd subject is … why why can’t the news give importance due to any and all missing women, girls, females?

I believe you are referring to the Charles Stuart case in Boston.
I think that must be it. Thanks!
Oh. That's a terrible story and I'm so sorry for that family.
