One day I hope to see the six hang like the German judges who bent the laws to uphold Hitler’s rulings that murdered six million Jews and destroyed nations and the lives of millions more. They are criminals supporting a criminal.
They are criminals and I would like to see something like the Nuremberg trials after all this is said and done, but I would prefer, because this is the kind of vengeance I prefer, that they all live a loooong time afterward under the punishment we mete out.
I loved the book but I am the only person on my friend’s list who could not get into the show. Maybe I waited too long, when we were in an actual dystopia.
Valid concern. I cannot decide if this is an attempt at decentralizing power and throwing things back to the state. It is definitely weakening the court structure.
The flagrant attack upon judges is beyond alarming! And to think the rapist/felon has nominated Bove (Roy Cohn clone) to be a judge previews what lies ahead and it ain't good!
Wow. I do not often read these things in their original, usually preferring to wait for more digested commentary from people more qualified than I am. But I read Sotomayor's dissent, on your recommendation (tyvm), and am happy I did so. While I am not qualified to evaluate her argument and citations, I am impressed by the depth of sourcing and the throroughness of her logic. Also, by the deliciousness of passing phrases like "in the rubble of its assault on equity jurisdiction..." ❤️
Thus inspired, I also read Jackson's perspective building on that dissent with a broader question: whether the Executive is or is not subject to the rule of law. 😨 That's the real issue, isn't it?
The felon in chief wants to be the only ruler, and this decision tilts the power in his favor. Sotomayor’s dissent is brilliant. The felon took a big victory lap— pointing to other executive rulings he issued such as financially penalizing sanctuary cities which he now thinks he can go after. Not so, but that’s a fight for another day. Jen Rubin of the Contrarian hosted a live video session with Norm and Attorney Katie Phang, they clearly spelled out the decision and what it means. They were working on a class action brief yesterday, not surprised if it has already been filed. On the bright side, the court left in place the preventative services that the ACA is required to cover. We just have to pray Kennedy doesn’t mess with it.
I cannot imagine the physical and emotional toll on this woman and her progressive colleagues, the ones who embrace the rule of law. It must be awful to watch your beloved institution crumble like this.
Eisen is spot on. And this opens an interesting door: Kacsmaryk's hateful district decisions, that he attempts to apply to the entire nation, may be reined in too.
Mitch McConnell will forever remain an enemy of the state!
Absolutely.

What I am saying? Is hanging is too good for them.
However, I have visions of The Wall from the Handmaids Tale after reading this. Live streamed, of course. ⚔️

Here is my concern, in the teeth of Norm Eisen:

The Democrats better start saying no to these idiot candidates.

Thank you for this link. She’s always a good read.

Yes if Dem, much less so if Trump.
I believe it is.

The conservative "bully pulpit" is alive and well and living on in SCOTUS
