You inspire me. I shall bake today. Which is a good idea in part because Sheeyun will return from DC, and likes his weekend breakfast to be coffee and a pastryish thing.

Two loaves of sweet oatmeal bread with pecans, currants, a mashed overripe banana, orange zest and Vietnamese cinnamon are now on their last rise.

I'm not a regular viewer, but I watched the s'mores segment the other day because I'd heard so much about it. What a hoot!

You're right about baking being a form of chemistry lab. I tinkered with it in my youth but haven't baked in decades, unless you count Jiffy cornbread. I admire your attempt and am sure they tasted great. By any chance was the recipe in weights, British style, as opposed to our measures by volume? That would throw me off entirely.

Lord, no. I use pounds/quarts/all that. I wouldn't even attempt another way.

Is that a crown or a crab within the dough dye? In my mind, either way a delicious confection! Have fun trick-ster-treating with the twin kids! ⚔️

Good for you! I am addicted to the show and the contestants. I emphasize with their failings. 😉

I’ve actually worked up tears over it. I sit there feeling silly, but there I am.

I'm sure it tastes good but it looks like something growing on the north side of a tree.
