I understand that it looks that way but house republicans apparently have retreat that kept them away starting at noon. I believe the senate is in session today. I wouldn’t blame anybody if they thought Pelosi was worried about republican, insurrection supporting reps sneaking their guns onto the floor after they propped the doors open. The news just announced that investigations into the Jan 6 invasion have started to focus on possible collaboration between insurgents and members of Congress. Given the presence of the guard and the fences, if anything does happen again, that it could be an inside job isn’t beyond the pale.
I’ve got to say that while it’s easy for me to want these folks to stay and do their job as they did the day of the insurrection, I’m still going to say I wish they’d stayed and done their jobs today. But then, I wasn’t the physical target of these idiots.
