So this is China's "solution" to the problem of sexual assault and rape in women's sports. I bet Gov Abbott is furiously taking notes; he promised to stop rape in Texas after he signed SB8, as I recall.

Thaaat’s right. Bury the problem. I give the WTA a lot of credit for this. And are you saying Abbott hasn’t stopped rapes in Texas?

Precisely my point. I haven't heard of a single rape in Texas since Abbott made his promise, ergo...and therefore...and other words...

Texas had more (reported) rapes in their state than any other state. And their rate per 100,000 is well above the US average. https://www.statista.com/statistics/232524/forcible-rape-cases-in-the-us-by-state/

Also, more than 90% of rapes in Texas are never reported. (I know you said that. Just putting some numbers to it.) https://www.statesman.com/story/news/2021/09/08/greg-abbott-rape-statistics-texas-abortion-law/5769709001/

And of those reported, most don't make it to trial and almost no one gets convicted. Here's an example of what went on in Austin. https://www.kut.org/crime-justice/2019-08-20/the-provability-gap-why-sexual-assault-cases-are-so-hard-to-prosecute-in-austin

That Texas' abortion ban at about 6 weeks doesn't make exceptions for rape or incest makes them no better. Maybe the WTA should make a statement they will hold no tennis matches there, too. They are hiding many victims. It just looks like law.

So Abbott lied. And Texas families continue to suffer.
