Quote of the day from political scientist, Lee Drutman.

“GOP learns the hard way: Turning the base up too high blows out your Speaker”.

The 8 Republicans who made this possible have never passed a meaningful bill in their entire careers. They weren't elected to do that. Their constituents elected them to do exactly what they've just done, to stop the federal government from functioning. Their constituents want a return to the glory days before the Civil Rights amendments.

Poindexter showed he can bang a gavel and act like a petulant child by demanding that Pelosi and Hoyer vacate their private offices! Meanwhile the sh*t is floating as Gymmie and Louisiana Lightening have thrown their hoods (oops), hats in the ring to lead the circus. We are in serious trouble and that light at the end of the tunnel is a train with 45 at the controls!

I do not always trust the process. But I do now. Gym as Speaker would be disastrous and I’m hoping the Republicans who reacted angrily to McCarthy’s ouster are retaining their spines.

Just know that many R’s blamed McTrump’s ouster on the D’s. They just can’t rise above partisanship and put the country first!

Some of them do, but I cling to the belief that there are some grownups in the Republican rooms, who can see this for the destruction that it is. I could be wrong. I hope I'm not.

Yeah, they're angry that the Democrats didn't save them from themselves.

As if. Did everyone see AOC's comment? How it isn't her job to put pool noodles in the corners to protect Republicans (from themselves)?

In my opinion a dysfunctional two party system. Ralph Nader has always been way ahead of us:

Is there a chance a more moderate Republican, willing to work across the aisle, will put his/her hat in the ring? Then maybe Dems would help out. Or, would the Dems also let the country suffer at the hands of the far right conservatives until election time to garner more votes? (I don't like that option a bit!) I've only heard the Jordan and Scalise are in the running for Speaker - both horrible options!

They both ARE horrible options. It's disheartening when moderates jump ship, but I can certainly understand them doing so.

The moderate Republicans should start playing hardball! If a handful of loser disrupters can control the House, the others should realize they could control it, too!
