Remember when the Ukrainian woman offered sunflower seeds to Russian soldiers. She suggested they put them in their pockets so that when they were killed in battle, their bodies could fertilize the seeds.
Remember when those Ukrainian soldiers told a Russian warship to go fuck itself?
Remember witnessing the destruction of so many cities, including (above), Mariupol?
As of today, it’s been a year. Since then, there’s been massive casualties, horrendous war crimes, and ridiculous political rhetoric based on nothing but a despot’s fevered dreams. Pundits say the war is near an end. Pundits say the war will stretch on forever. From the cheap seats, there are no good answers, but bless the Ukrainian people and, as always, Slava Ukraini.
It seems that the more things change the more they stay the same
We have either been at war or funding wars since I have been born and even much longer than that
It doesn’t seem to matter which party is in control
One side seems to be against what we are doing in Ukraine but wants to escalate things against the Chinese
But I also see our involvement as an escalation in a conflict that could go on for years
While appeasement of dictators never gives me a warm feeling neither does funding endless wars
In the end it’s the most vulnerable that will always suffer whether we do something or not
I don’t know
