These are the representatives (including Democrats) who voted to table Rep. Al Green's resolution that would have started impeachment proceedings

On Tuesday, Rep. Al Green (D-Texas) introduced H.Res. 537 to impeach the diapered felon who rapes for launching a war against Iran without Congressional approval.

“I take no delight in what I’m doing,” Green said. And then, a large contingent of Democrats voted to table his resolution because…because…I’m not sure why, actually..

From my state (Connecticut), four of our five U.S. representatives — Rep. John Larson, Rep. Jim Himes, Rep. Rosa DeLauro, and Rep. Joe Courtney — voted with a whole lot of Republicans to table the resolution. Only Connecticut Rep. Jahana Hayes was among the 79 — all Democrats — who voted not to table.

So thank you, Rep. Hayes, for understanding both the law and your constituency. We appreciate you.

And for people who insist now is not the time for another patch of impeachment hearings, for people who want to think about strategy, what will it take for you to push for impeachment? How much more criming does the current president need to crime before you’re willing to start this process?

Will it be his ignoring the Emoluments Clause even more than he already has? His abuse of pardon power? His kidnapping of immigrants and sending them to God-knows-where? Using the DOJ for his revenge tour? Creating a pretend department that steals our data? Cozying up to white nationalists? Collecting a free airplane?

Let me know when you’ve had enough. I’ve long since passed that point, myself.

(And yes, I know there is a Republican majority in the House and the Senate, but I do not believe that’s insurmountable. Trump’s approval rating is tanking. Any politician worth her salt needs to be looking over the hills for what comes next, and some of those Republicans may find their fealty to the felon wearing thin.)
