Maybe we should stop pretending that the second amendment has anything to do with an individual’s right to own guns

The word own does not appear anywhere in the second amendment

And the crowd that seems to be opposed to regulations of any kind conveniently skip over the first part of the second amendment

In order to maintain a well regulated militia

The GI Jokes I see parading around look anything but well regulated

That's a good point. The "well-regulated militia" part gets dropped off, always.

It sickens me how the misinterpretation of the Constitution gets floated in our faces each time there’s a mass shooting. Meanwhile, people are being killed every day by guns. It’s too damn easy to get a gun and too damn hard to get legislation to stop this.

Waaay too easy. And yet, we barrel onto the next mass shooting, happening in 3, 2, 1...

The headline in today’s Hedgefund Courant along with the accompanying story of the NYC mass shooting illustrate we are falling deeper into the abyss! After Sandy Hook I thought we would see action but instead the families were assaulted by scum, think Alex Jones. I have little hope that sensible gun legislation will ever pass. I see ammosexuals parading around in their “God, Guns, Trump” tees and NRA camo hats…..sickening!

I want Alex Jones to live a long and fruitless life (which he will, if the past is prologue) and see the legacy he left for himself, and for his family.

Meanwhile in my gQp led city of Bristol they referred the matter of flying the rainbow flag to the ordinance committee. I can now sleep well tonite knowing the reins of government are in such capable hands!?!

Even in my town, the freedom for me but not for thee crowd is active. A small rainbow pride flag was stolen from a book display in the library. We, of course, then bought a great, big, honkin' flag to replace it but that doesn't substantially diminish the determination of some to decide what others may or, more accurately, may not do.

I so appreciate your response, though. Don't like my small flag? HOW DO YOU LIKE ME NOW??
