If I was going to do a coup

Amid some disturbing information in “I Alone Can Fix It: Donald J. Trump’s Catastrophic Final Year,” a book out next week by Washington Post reporters Carol Leonnig and Philip Rucker, on Thursday the Other Guy slammed open the screen door and issued a statement from Doublewide Central that said, in part:

Sorry to inform you, but an Election is my form of "coup," and if I was going to do a coup, one of the last people I would want to do it with is General Mark Milley. He got his job only because the world’s most overrated general, James Mattis, could not stand him, had no respect for him, and would not recommend him.

“I Alone” covers the annus horribilis of 2020, when the leader of the free world heard just how dangerous was a coming virus, and worried strictly about his poll numbers, where the leader of the free world wanted to turn guns on and arrest #BLM protesters, and where the Big Lie was birthed as a desperate attempt for the Other Guy to stay on the Gravy Train. Among the book’s other reported events were concerns of the last administration’s top generals that the president might attempt to stage/launch/attempt/do a coup. I kind of think he did. I kind of think he’s still trying.

As the book says, though:

"They may try, but they're not going to f**king succeed," Milley told his deputies, according to the authors. "You can't do this without the military. You can't do this without the CIA and the FBI. We're the guys with the guns."

All that to say if I was going to do a coup, I’d use certain top GQPs as human shields. She said. With love.
