...am I a Nazi? Do we have a problem?
If I fly the Confederate battle flag, am I a Confederate? Can I claim I am strictly an archivist, or am I showing support to the rotted core at the center of the Confederacy?

We discovered this weekend that Harlan Crow, the fabulously-wealthy GOP mega-donor who over the years has given Supreme Court Associate Justice Clarence Thomas gifts, trips, and lodging worth millions of dollars, also collects Nazi memorabilia. Because of course he does. His supporters were quick to defend him, because of course they would.
.There isn’t a great deal of research into affiliation and memorabilia collections, but here’s an interesting piece on the psychological function of symbols from the American Psychological Association. In short, we show the colors of the groups to which we feel an affinity. So is Harlan Crow a Nazi? I leave that to Jesus, but imagine someone who collects “Make America Great Again” caps and flags and then let them insist they are not a Trump supporter. Imagine collecting slave memorabilia from the Old South, and then insisting you’re doing so for posterity. Puh-leez.
So the short answer is — and I’m willing to argue this — if it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, it isn’t a dove.
The thin line between fascination and fantasies completely vanishes when murderers, traitors and criminals are involved. Artifacts belong in museums not above your fireplace or in places of honor. I’m tired of the pretzel positions their logic takes.

I always agree with that and add that Lincoln was a republican and the people that opposed him carried the confederate battle flag but who is carrying the flag today??
I guarantee they didn’t vote for Obama or Clinton or Biden
