Can’t WAIT to get home! Hi ho, Susan ⚔️ let’s make local newspapers thrive! The Patch doesn’t cut it for us, and this newspaper will be heartedly praised! When I had problems with a device I had implanted for nerve damage, I was introduced to tort law (Reigel v Medtronic) by a lawyer in West Hartford. He introduced me to Nader and I was hooked!

Nader is woven into the fabric of tort law in this country. And Patch up here tries, but I am on the email chain of the beginnings of this venture, and let me tell you, this will be a newspaper in the truest sense of the word.

This is very exciting. When the printed Courant changed and was going to be an added 10cents/day - we finally gave in and went to all digital. I'm keeping The Hartford Courant - not because I like it these days - but because there still is some local news, and we cannot let all newspapers die. So - go Ralph. This new paper is a smart edition/addition.

I feel the same way. I will subscribe to Mother Courant until they shoot my remains out of a cannon, but I'm digital and have been for a couple of years now. I want to support it.

Our local paper went to delivery by mail a few months ago. It’s better than nothing but breaking news wise, it’s like day old bread and they haven’t updated their website in weeks. While we can access the Courant website, we haven’t received a Courant at the door in three weeks and other than crediting our account, we can’t get an explanation about what’s going on. The New York Times, which we had been getting delivered on Sunday, stopped showing up a while ago, disrupting a Sunday morning routine that is as close as I get to church. I have a stubborn loyalty to print but it hasn’t been easy lately. Hearing about the Winsted Citizen gives me hope but when I clicked on the donate button on the Citizen website, I got screen that says that page does not exist. So board member, help me catch a journalistic break here and the check will go in the mail (figuratively speaking, since it will probably be a credit card thing). Go Citizen!

I just checked, and the tabs worked for me. Do you mind checking again? How annoying.

I managed to get to a donation only link by clicking on one of the subscription links but the donation only link on the page with the three options led to a “page does not exist” on three different devices. Donation is on the way in any case.

I've alerted the powers that be. You shouldn't have to work so hard to give away money...thank you, Paul.

Winsted is a cool town, and I've given some thought to moving there. I really like Hamden and am very involved with Friends of the Library right now, but I may get priced out in the next few years. I've been to the tort museum, and I highly recommend that everyone visit at least once.

We are looking for homes in the Winsted/New Hartford/Barkhamsted/Canton area. It’s a tough market but worth the wait! We are on our way back from Orlando and New Orleans, so if anyone has leads, I’d love to hear them!

Andy lives in my town. Our sons played sport with his boys. One of the local papers, The Torrington Register Citizen, just became a weekly publication instead of a daily. It’s the slow death of democracy. I’d like to subscribe to his paper. Kudos to home for this audacious endeavor.

My best friend has lived in Winsted for close to 40 years, and as a result, I spend a lot of time in town (especially at Little Red Barn Brewers but that's another story). I dare say that I seem to be seeing a bit of a renaissance of sorts in town. It's a wonderful thing.

I don’t know if this will come as a surprise , but I like the analogy of murders row

But to tell you the truth , I always rooted for the underdog , like the 1960 Pittsburgh Pirates over the Yankees

Roughly 100 years ago, an editor dubbed a few of us in Wichita a "murderer's row," which was the first time I'd ever heard that phrase. Now? I love it. Rather than actual murderers, it's like saying, "Just give me the ball." And then stand back. Andy has hired two outstanding Univ. of New Haven students and they've already hit the ground running. It all makes me want to cry happy tears.
