Though you enter the winter break stumbling and hollow-eyed, may you emerge from it sleek and strong, a veritable centaur.

As Bob Dylan (& others) once said, "You gotta keep on keepin' on".

Look at it through the rose-colored spectacles Susan. AT the start of the semester even a horse's butt can be interesting and visually appealing, by May we have seen enough to call it .

The title is misleading. You can, and I was laughing before coffee.

Huh. I saw it as a student when I first saw this in your post. The good student starting the semester -- an outline happy to be filled with new knowledge, filling in as the year goes on, perhaps half full at semester break. But the dedicated professor's perspective is the opposite. Cool, and I bet most of you who go through this somehow manage to mostly refill for the 2nd semester.

We do that be sleeping, a lot. And napping in between.

That's what I would think. For injuries, sleep is when the body actually heals. Contrary to popular beliefs, I have heard that the mind is connected to the body, and, like shoots these chemicals around from stress and anxiety. Who knew. So, for you dedicated teachers, professors, faculty, instructors--all of you--sleep will dump them damned chemicals, relax your stressed out bodies, and get you back to YOU. Go figure. Lord, I'm a geek. REST!! And laugh a lot.

I am not a professor, but I have sat in MANY lectures. I can tell by the content of this web site, and having met you many years ago, you are one of the ones to be admired. You should be pleased with the knowledge, and thoughtfulness you have passed on to your students!! Not every professor can do that. You are special, and don't you forget that. Happy Holidays all.

Well, that is very kind of you, and thank you. This was a particularly ragged semester and I'm not walking away feeling like it was a win, but it's over and there was some learning, so...thank you.

I think that's why we take a break at the darkest time of the year. It's not bad to have high expectations or yourself. If I were there I would bring you a hot chocolate, but here's a hug. 🤗
