For the first time in my adult life I did not watch…damn work schedule! For the life of me I don’t understand heckling at an “official” invitation appearance. On the campaign trial, sure. At an event as President, ok. But he was invited to come and as part of his constitutional duties he has to give a “state of the union”. I remember watching President Nixon give a SOTU. And I asked my father why democrats were standing and applauding when he came in the House chamber. My father said “they are applauding the position not the person”. If democrats could refrain from heckling Nixon , well……

P.S. WTF was Marge wearing? It was 50 degrees here yesterday 🤦🏼‍♀️

I'm sorry you missed it. The kids in the backseat were egregious, and I can only guess that Madge found a drunk Muppet, rolled it, skinned it, and threw the pelt over her shoulders.

I don't like her or her ugly clothes.

I think it’s more like monkeys throwing their poop.

Maybe it’s time for a meme change. “The Hill” reports that, known formerly as the “Leopards Eating People’s Faces Party”, the republican caucus has adopted “Monkeys Throwing Their Poop Party” as their new moniker.

That's entirely accurate. I mean, come ON, what does this add?

In the fifties, many a grandmother had a furry potty seat cover. The...outfit...suggests what I have long suspected about the wearer: faulty potty training.

(This platform will not let me include a photo of an example said cover. )

It went pretty much as I expected it to go

It’s become a preformative show where people that support whoever is the president will like it and people that are opposed will hate it

But last night watching the clown show that sits on the other side of the aisle was embarrassing

When the speaker of the house has to shush his members like a parent dealing with out of control kids screaming in church , anyone watching that wasn’t ashamed of those theatrics is definitely stuck in perpetual adolescence

I could almost hear McCarthysaying , if you keep quiet I’ll take you out for ice cream after

I was thinking more along the lines of him threatening to pull the car over but that would have required he assert himself. So nah.

In my father’s case it was I swear I’ll turn this car around and go home

I would usually call his bluff if we were going somewhere I didn’t want to go

You mean I don’t have to go to aunt Maude’s and sit on her plastic covered sofa eating 20 year old ribbon candy???

I actually DID turn the car around and go home once. I regret that I had nothing more creative in my bag.

How did Madge afford that “red carpet” outfit on her meager salary of $172K? Insurrectionists aside, Joe gave his best performance ever!

The Repugnicans have shown their true colors. They acted, to quote Professor McGonagall of "Harry Potter fame, "...like a babbling, bumbling band of baboons!". That was their tell. Biden has not been perfect during his term as President, but he has acted with civility toward the Repugnicans. Too bad they want to continue their intransigence.

If I was a serious Republican who went into the speech last night worrying about the state of my party, well, all my questions would have been answered, right there.

I agree with you 100%. I think the new speaker of the house forgot professional department and descended into comical, unbecoming behavior with his mouthing off that’s not true and having to shush his GOP shall we call them fringes?

And Madge, who I think you actually named punctuated her for idiocy and lack of class and department and education in her audacious, shaggy faux fur get up. I was happy that our president as you said, got a debate an agreement on the floor settled for once, and for all in front of the nation. and called the GOP is out on using Social Security and Medicare as leverage. Nobody’s perfect but Joe Biden gave a hell of a presidential State of the Union message.

And his invited guests were acknowledged, and their presence put a face on issues that have been ignored, and pushed aside by the GOP in the NRA.

GOP should wake up and be ashamed. They were admonish for not supporting democracy.

I think my favorite take away there were so many it’s hard to pick one was we are the only country in the world built on an idea. Support democracy and everyone’s freedoms. Respect everyone first and foremost and it will come back to you.

Wihile President Joe Biden may not be able to push all these reforms and change this through. We know where his heart and mind is. Conversation, deliberation, and cutting out a solution is what is needed. Not with a bunch of petty waste hooligans wearing Halloween costumes screaming like high school kids at the speaker. Who have been rightfully, elected on truths not lies. We need to get the WORK done and hold everyone to the standard of TRUTH.

It means that if you don’t do the right things leading up to your senior year you probably will have a tough time graduating
