While the story about Twitter and oligarch antagonist Elon Musk dies (we hope) a natural death, it is interesting to contemplate his original offer for the social media platform.
After watching “Tent City USA” I would build those tiny houses for the homeless and help them start food programs to grow and share food. There are several to model it after and counseling services would be a part of it along with some kind of work for each family.
I have thought about how I would donate to charities if I ever had a large windfall of cash
The things that I enjoy the most are the things I would like to share with others
Baseball
I would love to give tickets with transportation to big brothers/sisters with money on each ticket for food and drinks at a ballpark
Astronomy
I would love to fund a planetarium or public telescopes
The arts
I would love to build an amphitheater that could be used year round for public use for graduations of local schools or for town celebrations like the 4th of July or other holiday events and give access to local dance studios or community theater groups or free concerts from local bands which I would certainly pay to have them preform
I think I could do some of that with 43 billion dollars
5 years ago I bought 20 tickets to a Red Sox game with 15 dollars on each ticket to use at the concession stand
I offered the tickets to my family
My brother and sisters and their families declined the tickets and I could only find a few people that wanted to go which led me with 7 extra tickets
At first I was going to sell them to a scalper but I decided to talk to the owner of the Bulllpen cafe which is on Jersey Street across from Fenway
I came to know him and some of the people that worked there over the years and I told him that if he knew anyone that could bring at least 5 kids I would give them the tickets free
Their smiles were better than any money I could have gotten for the tickets
I would lean to preserving the Amazon from cutting, maybe work on expanding women's rights and micro loans in smaller economies. then go after making insulin cheaply available.
Repair all that we have broken.
The environment,
Unequal food distribution,
Unequal educational opportunities,
Unequal application of laws,
Unequal housing,
Unequal access to medical care.
And a 1963 black, fuel injected,
Split-window, Corvette Stingray.
(The latter of which will be delivered to the Deacon, right after the ‘68 Mustang convertible is delivered to me.)

It seems pretty simple. The cure for homelessness is houses.
Start an endowment to permanently fund a UBI to end poverty
UBI! Why didn't I think of that?

These are awesome and creative donations. Thank you. And go, Cards.
I have done one of my wishes on a smaller scale

That's just wonderful. Imagine the good time you gave that family.

ALL GOOD!
Amen. Double amen.
