In rather rapid order, on Tuesday, we learned that:
A jury found that the Trump Corporation and the Trump Payroll Corporation committed tax fraud. Sentencing could come within days.
The House Jan. 6th committee will issue criminal referrals. From the linked New York Times story, a committee statement said:
“The committee has determined that referrals to outside entities should be considered as a final part of its work. The committee will make decisions about specifics in the days ahead.”
And finally: Sen. Raphael Warnock won the George run-off. Roughly 3.4 million Georgians voted, and Walker found himself in the position of needing to listen to the advice given by Gabriel Sterling, the state’s chief operating officer at the Georgia secretary of state’s office, who said earlier in the evening on CNN that any one who lost this election should acknowledge that loss and any one who won should remember they were elected to represent everyone, not just the people who voted for them.
I’m sure this is me being a cock-eyed optimist, but if the beautiful state of Georgia can elect two Democratic U.S. Senators, there just may be hope for places like my home state of Missouri. Glory! Feel free to hoist a few. You’ve earned it.
Yup, what a bout! Cautious optimism with a sprinkle of glee is the mood around my house. Geesh, I’m hesitant to burst into a happy dance, but 💃. So we take shaky breaths in and slowly blow out the tension in our necks and shoulders...ahhhh!
Give me a hope and a plan, and I’m good, hi ho! Your hope for our “home” state reflects mine. Dig it!
