I don’t know the details either but as you rightfully point out it’s not appropriate to have any religious question and should not have been allowed. Chair should have said last not appropriate don’t answer
Actually, Susan, I expect you to sprout wings and fly every day. That said, I did an interview for WeVoteValues.org leading up to the last election (they were targeting the Bible Belt and Deep South voters whose personal values couldn’t have been further from the person they’d elected in 2016) spoke to how the faith of elected and appointed officials can direct their actions, and I’d take future Deputy AG Dillinger’s values over Senator Kennedy’s (I threw up in my mouth more than just a little while typing that) any day of the week and twice on Sunday. Maybe thrice.
I'm reading Katherine Stewart's The Power Worshippers, about the history of rightwing and conservative-Christian organizing to make the US into a theocracy. A horrifyingly good read.
Someone hit John Kennedy with the stupid stick when he was just a baby. Poor guy. All I can say is that John Kennedy is no Jack Kennedy. (The old political junkies in the crowd will get that reference.)
Kennedy is a cartoon character, and seeing Hawley kept me from having my 4th donut!?! Only kidding I stopped at 2:))
I don’t but if I was Dillinger I would have responded that God is a black guy in a hoodie. Let Senator Goober deal with that.
And She is lesbian. And meaty arms.
The committee chair should not have allowed the question to stand or have the witness answer.
I don’t know what happened. Why WAS that allowed?

“speaking to”, not “spoke to”; a shame you can’t edit here.
I wish we COULD edit here, but no worries. I knew that you meant.

Isn’t it? That’s an excellent book.
And after being frustrated by Michael Lewis's unfootnoted The Premonition, I'm even more grateful than usual for proper references.
I'm so glad you know it, and not that surprised. :D
Oh, I miss plenty of good books, but this is an interest of mine.
Just so. :)
Kennedy is an old man who is probably starting to worry about his own personal judgment day. The question should have been gaveled out of existence.
Amen.

I find it appalling they share a name.
