Well this sucks. Sometimes it’s scarier to have a loved one be sick than to be sick yourself. At least you two are moving through this together. Sending healing vibes to you both.

Thank you. Again: I do not expect the committed anti-vaxxers to pay attention to this, BUT: For all I've read and for all I've heard, nothing is quite so convincing as watching someone you love struggle with this.

I am so sorry this happened to your husband and you. I sincerely hope you do not get it. My frustration is that we cannot get rid of this virus until more people get vaccinated. We all Have a duty of care towards our fellow humans although some don't think it applies to them. I am so sorry. Hope he feels better soon.

Duty of care. Exactly. We owe this to each other. And thank you. We are going to be OK.

I am so sorry this has happened. I hope your husband feels much better very soon and that you do not become ill. So frustrating.

Frustrating to the extreme. We are actually lucky. My husband is a retired paramedic. He knows what to watch for and he knows what he needs, medically, to feel better. I am exhibiting not a single symptom and hope for a negative test result. If it's positive, I'll stay quarantined and continue my lame attempts at nursing. If it's negative, I'll leave quarantine, but continue my lame attempts at nursing.

It’s a good time to stay home, since the hurricane is coming on Sunday. Take care of you and hubby-did the grands get tested?

They and their parents were tested. They await their results. Only my husband is showing symptoms of COVID. Thank you for asking.

Thank you. Thank you. Another to the point column from the writer I aspired to be when I was 14. I ended up becoming an RN but that’s NOT the point here. I share and will continue to share your mantra of vax up and mask up with anyone I can.

I am so sorry the Delta variant has gotten to your husband. I send healing energy to him and to you! May you both bask in good health again SOONEST!

Leave the infectious COVID-19 demons to those who won’t act because they refuse to believe.

I am of the opinion that RNs do the important work. Writers just write about important work. Thank you for what you’re doing and stay safe.

Living in a red state, you can only imagine the frustration we have here. We are vaccinated and wear our masks whenever we’re around other people. We also live in a very rural area where staying distant is a lot easier. But, OMG, I do need to get some more milk and this requires scrunching up with unmasked others. I keep my fingers crossed every time I have to do this and hope that their “Christianity” includes keeping others safe. Goodwill to you and your hubby. I hope his symptoms recede soon and that your tests continue to be negative.

My question always is, was there any moment where he wasn’t masked? Just a moment? Because if he was 100% masking and was vaccinated, that is almost too depressing to hear.
