Thank you. I've had so much fun planning it and dragging people into it who didn't want to get involved. (JK but I AM glad I have an artsy friend in Elizabeth, who has already bought the diamond drill bits and is preparing to give the first bottle a go.)
I know Gary, he makes a great rose, and he is truly one of the good guys....looking forward to seeing your work of art....and know this every home sells regardless of the artwork hillbilly or otherwise:))
When I first bought this house, I kept in mind (to quell my weirder design instincts) that the NEW owners (the ones after me) might not like whatever the hell I was planning. I am still aware of the stewardship nature of home ownership but yeah. I let ‘er rip. And Gary is one awesome guy.
And you survived. Yep. I bought this house because of the wood floors and unpainted wood trim and finished attic. I noticed nothing else, except maybe the funky yard that looked loaded with possibilities.
That looks mighty attractive. And should repel ghosts.
Right? And that's important, in this creaky old house.
Your project reminds me of the time my aunt and uncle bought a lamp making kit for my cousin Dave
The kit had everything needed to make 2 lamps including a glass drill and my uncle owned a bar in Naugatuck so they had plenty of bottles
After my cousin made the first lamp he lost interest but his 6 year old brother found it fascinating and made the second lamp but he didn’t stop there
He proceeded to dismantle all of his mothers matching lamps and turned them into a hodgepodge of Old Grand Dad Seagrams 7 and Jose Cuervo lamps
That's really kind of awesome.
I would recommend corked bottles only. You know, keep it classy. Screw tops are fine for drinking but for aesthetics, not so much.
I think you're right on that. The wine bottles are downright elegant.
You’re sharing your joy. ❤️
When I am old, I won't wear purple and a red hat that doesn't go and doesn't suit me. I'll be puttering in the yard.
YASSSS!!!
I lived with ugly kitchen wallpaper for 20 years because the previous owner had "just put it in." It's your home. Do what makes you happy!
Amen. I will.
Such a cool project! Love it. ❤️

And speaking of Jesus, I imagine he takes a look at the shape the world’s in and thinks “Holy me! Five o’clock can’t come soon enough”.
Hallelujah and Amen!
