I was hearing something about non-cooperation training this morning on The Daily Beans. When I find a proper reference I'll come back and add it.
Robert Reich says:
What you can do:
1. Protect the vulnerable. If anyone in your community is confronted by ICE agents demanding proof of citizenship, make sure they know they have a right to remain silent and to refuse consent to searches of their cars, homes, or persons.
Red cards with this and other pertinent information are available in various languages. You can download and print them for free here.
2. Make sure you know your own rights. If stopped, you are not required to answer questions. You can refuse a search of your person, car, or belongings. If the agents proceed with a search despite your refusal, make it clear you do not consent. If you’re not under arrest, you can ask if you are free to go. If the answer is yes, leave.
If you or someone in your community believes rights have been violated, document everything you can of the encounter with ICE agents.
3. Finally, know that the purpose of Trump’s police state is to silence not just immigrants but the rest of us. Do not be intimidated or discouraged from speaking out, writing, demonstrating, boycotting, or undertaking any other nonviolent action in opposition to what the regime is doing.
To the contrary, become even more active. Share any abuses you witness (and, ideally, have recorded on your phone) as widely as possible, so that more people are apprised of what’s happening and are ready to join the resistance.
Be safe. Be careful. Have courage. Hug your loved ones.

Well, bother. I can't find it. It's not in The Daily Beans, and not in Heather Cox Richardson. And what I find is for now-past half-day events in DC, not the extended hearing I recall hearing talked of. Here's a link on those, anyway: NO! Here it is! http://www.couleeprogressives.org/2025/07/strategic-non-cooperation-training.html
The set-up? The set-up? WTF is the moron talking about? He just can’t help himself, blaming things on Biden. But to call the devastation and death of so many in TX a set-up is disgusting and immoral, but what can we expect from the normal word salad that falls from his mouth. He thought of a new phrase to use, which is more heinous than usual. Sickening! ⚔️
He always reminds me of C.S. Lewis's account of Napoleon Buonaparte in Hell, in The Great Divorce:
""That’s right. The nearest of those old ones is Napoleon. We know that because two chaps made the journey to see him. They’d started long before I came, of course, but I was there when they came back. About fifteen thousand years of our time it took them. We’ve picked out the house by now. Just a little pin prick of light and nothing else near it for millions of miles.’
"‘But they got there?’
"‘That’s right. He’d built himself a huge house all in the Empire style—rows of windows flaming with light, though it only shows as a pin prick from where I live.’
"‘Did they see Napoleon?’
"‘That’s right. They went up and looked through one of the windows. Napoleon was there all right.’
"‘What was he doing?’
"‘Walking up and down—up and down all the time—left-right, left-right—never stopping for a moment. The two chaps watched him for about a year and he never rested. And muttering to himself all the time. “It was Soult’s fault. It was Ney’s fault. It was Josephine’s fault. It was the fault of the Russians: It was the fault of the English.” Like that all the time. Never stopped for a moment. A little, fat man and he looked kind of tired. But he didn’t seem able to stop it.’"
Pathological liars typically base their lies a shred of the truth thinking it adds plausibility to their lie, no matter how tiny that shred is. In this case the fact Joe Biden even exists is the shred of plausibility he grabbed onto. The other day he said the Chinese don’t generate any solar energy because he’s never seen any. In fact, the Chinese have built the biggest solar farms in the world. The construction of his lies get flimsier and flimsier all the time. It’s an indication of his untethered decline but worse yet the gullibility and/or numbness of so many Americans.
I understand and agree with the frustration of needing to do more than carry signs, and am also ready to step up to getting into more good trouble. I would also offer that we look for humor in any good trouble we get into. I encourage everyone to check out Cats on a couch on Instagram, Facebook, substack, created by Amanda McGonigle to troll JD Vance (ever wonder why JD's social media posts have lots of "meows" in the comments?). Check out Meowtucket, and day of fun, protest, and JD trolling when he comes to Nantucket for a $250K per couple fundraiser.
The need for a civil disobedience movement is something I think about often. My experience goes back to 1989, the last time I was arrested. I wanted to join a blockade of a Massachusetts Air Force base when Bush invaded Iraq in 2003, but I had a bad case of the flu. The stuff I did '79-'89 was mostly under the banner of the Catholic peace movement (though I'm an atheist). I don't know who is/will be organizing it now.
I haven't personally witnessed any ICE kidnappings (yet), but I feel strongly that I'd want to use my body to interfere with that, even knowing I ultimately wouldn't succeed. At this moment, I can't get arrested because my little dog, who has just been diagnosed with cancer, needs me. But I know this fight against fascism is going to be a long one.
I truly hope he gets everything coming to him. I have never felt this way about a human being before but I truly hope there is a hell and there is a special spot for him!
I always think of that shitweasel Lutnick when he cried on TV each day after 9/11 when all of his employees at Cantor Fitzgerald including his brother were burned alive and wonder if any of that crying or mourning contained a scintilla of actual grief since he appears to be soulless and bereft of empathy, compassion and decency or morality.
A reliable agency must thoroughly survey the communities impacted by recent catastrophic events. This survey should capture the residents' beliefs regarding climate change, whether they affirm its existence or express skepticism. By understanding the perspectives of those directly affected, we can gain valuable insights into the broader implications of climate change on public opinion and resilience in the face of environmental challenges.
He counts on the stupidity of many Americans. The people who are uninformed on every topic, the people who don't read, have zero knowledge of anything beyond their own town or state, etc. and the terminally gullible who believe every nonsensical sound out of his mouth or the mouths or keyboards of dolts like Loomer, Kirk, Bannon -- the refuse of the populace who are known for nothing other than their ability to draw attention to themselves and their crackpottery.

It’s a reflex for the diapered felon who rapes. It’s always someone else’s fault.

I would say word vegetable peels rather than salad, but yup.

Meanwhile, here's the link to a mini-series of little essays I wrote on becoming an activist decades ago. It includes the Catholic civil disobedience campaigns. https://janetjonesbann.substack.com/p/notes-on-resistance-1-of-7
Thank you for these.
I truly hope he gets everything coming to him. I have never felt this way about a human being before but I truly hope there is a hell and there is a special spot for him!
I HAVE felt this way before about certain people, but I feel it uniquely about him. Hell is not hot enough.
I wonder if there are ways to assist legal aid groups/law firms that oppose some of the worst acts. (Monetary donations and volunteer time)
That’s an excellent suggestion. There are multiple immigrant organizations that can always use donations/volunteers.
I wonder if people who are not attorneys could assist attorneys as volunteers in protecting due process and rights.
I would love to do that.
I saw him making the comments while the doting fool (Howard Lutnick) next to him was grinning and moving his head like a bobble head doll!
Howard may be the moral runt of the litter.
Wow. I forgot about that. And yes to the shit weasel label.
Perfectly stated!

Those regions are Trump-friendly 🤨
