What a glorious, tear-filled few hours! I watched the whole thing and there were more than a few moments that took my breath away. I so miss the Obamas and their goodness, love for each other and the country!

Oh how I wish Michelle would become our next President. Though, I completely understand why she wouldn't want to wade into such nasty waters.

I watched the dedication from start to finish. Like clear waters it restored my soul. Do go back and find Jennifer Hudson’s National Anthem. It made me cry with its richness. From moment one- it was a home run. Everyone and everything was totally classy while also feeling homegrown and comfortable. It makes me believe we truly, TRULY can and will do better.

I felt the exact same way. There’s hope.

I cried my way through Michelle Obama’s speech. I SO miss my country! She and Barack made me long even more for a return to our precious democracy and civility. They are so well spoken, bright, classy, and kind, and they are missed more than words can convey. Shine on, President and Mrs. Obama! ❤️

I chose to describe it in glowing detail, performer by performer, dignitaries and presidents and oh the inspiring speeches with full sentences, to the cesspool dwellers in the MAGA FB group I got invited to join. I added that big patches of blue paint are now floating in algae in the reflecting pool and Zelenskyy is up for the Nobel Prize. They are spitting mad at me.

They should probably redirect their anger.

Oh Michelle, that was awesome! Did anyone notice JDVance giving a speech to divert attention away from this wonderful occasion?

Susan Campbell's avatar

No. Because Shillbilly isn’t worth the time it took God to make him.

It was Michelle's speech that got me.

WHAT happened to the USA that we lost this and got... these creatures of the night?

Some of us let our worse angels take over.

Watched from beginning to end. The speeches. Omigod - intelligent, decent, competent people speaking full sentences, complete thoughts, expressing hope, facts, positivity, joy etc. For a few hours we were back in the America of which we could be proud and could forget that the Orange Beast exists.

I think we had our 250th anniversary celebration at that ceremony today.

I really enjoyed seeing four Presidents and First Ladies together who laughed, chatted, and acted like normal human beings who despite differences are very aware of the unique experience that only they have shared.

What a joyful time. And that’s the way I’ll look at it now, too. That was our 250th and I am thrilled to have witnessed it.
