On Monday, Ken Paxton, Texas’s attorney general, announced he was opening an investigation of Media Matters for America, “a radical, anti-free speech organization” for “fraudulently” manipulating data in a report on that sewer of a social media platform, X.com, the former Twitter.
Paxton calls MM “radical,” and his announcement came the same day that ethically-challenged Elon Musk launched a suit against MM over the organization’s recent report about antisemitism on Xwitter.
Interesting that Paxton would want to piggy-back on that.
So, taking a spin through the organization’s website:
Is it “radical” to call out the press for ignoring the former president’s planned revenge, should he be re-elected?
Is it “anti-free speech” to call Rupert Murdoch’s legacy “destructive?”
Is it “radical” OR “anti-free speech" to ask that Instagram monitor content more carefully?
My word, but Paxton — the ethical runt of the litter — looks silly here. To what base is he appealing, do you think?
Sixty years ago today, a young president who offered hope to America and the world was murdered in broad daylight on a street in the city of hate, Dallas Texas! In the years since America has seen turmoil unlike anything since the Civil War with race riots, anti-war demonstrations, mass shootings, and decades long wars. Now we face a growing threat to our freedom and the very Constitution upon which America was founded. Characters like Paxton, who was exonerated by his fellow MAGAots for criminal activities, are in powerful positions pushing all things 45 professes to his cult! As I reflect on JFK's murder I fear the evil crowd is winning!
Silly and dangerous. I remain baffled by Mr. Paxton's ability to evade accountability under the law and retain his office. We have much to do to heal our democracy.
