Once again, Mexico is sending its best to a devastated part of the U.S. (a flooded central Texas) where firefighters from Ciudad Acuña, Mexico, are helping with rescue and recovery operations.
The death toll from the Texas floods has risen to 82 and more rain is in the forecast.
The bomberos arrived Sunday, and they’re working alongside Mountain Home Fire Department with humanpower, drones, and other technology meant to aid in the search.
This is not the first time Mexican firefighters have come to the aid of their northern neighbors.
Ciudad Acuña, a town of about 160,000 people, is in northeastern Mexico, just across the Mexico/U.S. border from Del Rio, Texas. Without getting too corny, this is a good reminder that borders mean nothing when your priority is humanity.
We have a great nation in spite of the ass h---s.
I put trust over money any day. Trust lasts longer, I think. There's more risk with money. Am I that far off?
