Optimism? Pessimism?
Do those words mean anything any more?
I found the above on Twitter and it broke my heart — or at least cracked it around the edges.
Are you an optimist? Are you somewhere on the spectrum of optimism? There may be all kinds of reasons to be pessimistic, not the least of which is our 19th month in a killer pandemic with people who refuse to accept science and the rent’s coming due, so no need to weigh your answer carefully.
Regardless, I’m going to mark myself down as an optimist. You?
I'm a cynic whose optimism rests with the young people who are growing up in the most diverse America ever. They GET it, and they are the only ones left who have the mentality to solve this country's -- and world's -- problems.
